Hello We are a joung team of paragliding pilots and do Tandemflys arround Lake Lucern but most of the time from our homebase Mount Niederbauen over the beautiful lokated village Emmetten on a small plateao and half island abouve the lake. Here is one of the best spots to become a pilot in Swiss and most of us did our edjukation in the lokal flyinschool Flugschule Emmetten cause of the good conditions and the save landing and takeoff places. The view here is just amazing and thats why it was dedicated as the place with the best view in Swiss in 2014. You can see the Kanton/Staates Schwyz, Nidwalden and Luzern and with some luck the upwind is taking us from the takeoff to the peak of Niederbauen and you will also see the Kanton Uri and the spectaculare mountainrange off the Gotthardtmassiv with the snowy peaks. Book your fly today and take off from the ground

I was there in autumn. My friend advised me to try to fly with a glider in tandem. I was scared before... But Florian is really professional pilot who can help you to do the best and get really positive emotions from the flight. After flying we could do barbecue on the sunset with amazing view! Thanks a lot! I will definitely come again! Highly recommend!

Easily accessible via a gondola from Beckenried, which itself can be reached by road or boat from Lucerne or other communities along Lake Lucerne. There are a good number of trails of various length starting at the mountain station of the gondola. We took the easy, 45 min Alpine Flora way which has pictures and explanations of the various alpine flowers encountered (alas only in German). At the beginning of the trail, and also about 2/3 through the hike (going clock-wise), there are several restaurants where you can relax, enjoy a drink and taste some of the typical foods of the region. We did this short hike 2 years ago in July and the flowers were spectacular, including a rare Edelweiss, and we just did it again in early September, when the flowers were already thinning out, only a few remaining and past their prime in appearance. Both time we had a small bite at the charming small restaurant "Bergbeizli Klewenalp" situated along the Alpine Flora way 2/3rds from the start. Definitely an area and a spot worth visiting.

Very nice 2-hour walk down from Seelisberg to Bauen. Came back by boat to the Rütli (Grütli) where Switzerland was founded in 1291. From Rütli to Seelisberg, it is a nice 1h30 steep uphill walk. There is a cable train from Seelisberg to Treib and steam boats to Lucerne.

Swiss Knife Valley Visitor Center

Reviewed By TightLoops - Switzerland

I own a lot of Victorinox knifes, I am very proud of them and I offer very often Swiss knifes to friends and family. So I thought it would be a great occasion to visit the Center during our stay in Brunnen. Unfortunately we were very disappointed.
When we entered the center, there was no one around, there is no reception on the ground floor and you do not know what there is to visit and at what time. So we walked up to the first floor where we found an information on the wall saying that the next movie presentation would be in a couple of minutes. Then suddenly a lady showed up and gave us some very incoherent information which we did not understand although we speak the local Swiss German dialect. Then a group of visitors left the presentation room and the lady closed it behind them and turned her attention to the group. She gave them some information about the region of the Muotathal. After approximately five minutes we tried to kindly ask why the presentation room was closed and when the next presentation would be. Then suddenly a second lady appeared and told us in a very harsh way that we just had disturbed an interview for oversees visitors. She then gave us information in a very unfriendly way which was totally inconsistent with what we thought we had heard from the first lady. We finally left disappointed.
There is also a shop and the young lady there was very friendly. Unfortunately we were no longer in the mood for shopping.

The miniature golf course directly in front of the post office, on a concentrated spot, invites adults and children to a tournament. Racquets and balls can be purchased at the infocenter or in the restaurant Tubli for a deposit of CHF 10.00 each.

Hoping this is the same thing but the mini golf on the front is lovely. Maybe a little overgrown but for free you can't complain. Nice selection of holes and the actual surface is in good condition and very playable. Loved it.

Swiss Holiday Park

Reviewed By Timothy B - Lucerne, Switzerland

Next to the Swiss Holiday park, and I think belonging to it, is the Go-cart track. We went with some friends to celebrate my birthday and my friends god-daughter. We bought five 8-minute rides and as we were a group of five we went out as a group and raced as a group. It was great exciting fund and surprisingly safe considering we were facing and we could do 60. However as they were electric cars the safety observer could kill the power to the cars and change the maximum speed so unexperienced and kids had ti drive slower. We had two spin outs and both times he quickly cut the power to 5 k and waited until we had sorted ourselves out and then off we went.
I loved going round and each time seeing my time. The record for my day was 27 seconds my time was 32 and the best in our group 28,
Highly recommended you just need to be 140 cm. No noise and no smell what a joy

The fortress provides a unique glance to the WW2 from the side of a neutral country.
Unlike other ancient Castles, the fortress is "alive" and ready for use. Also, unlike other war museums throughout Europe, here the focus is on planning an appropriate defense rather than an attack.
The guided tour is very informative and even amusing (thanks to the guide's interactions with the audience), and reveals another side to Switzerland that could be hardly found anywhere else.
It is much recommended to bring a sweater to the tour- the fortress is cooled to ~15 deg.C.

Mineralbad & Spa Rigi-Kaltbad

Reviewed By U1traviolet - Riga, Latvia

Unique location on top of Rigi mountain with panoramic view. Good quality of treatments and choice of jacuzzi. The only downside is that no photos are allowed (it's a pity as view is really great), and no bar, so if you want some drink or snack you need to go out to another place. Bathrobes and towels are provided at a charge.
