Druskininkai ([ˈdrʊsʲkʲɪnʲɪŋkɐɪ] ( listen), Polish: Druskieniki, Belarusian: Друскенiкi, Yiddish: דרוזגעניק Druzgenik) is a spa town on the Nemunas River in southern Lithuania, close to the borders of Belarus and Poland. The city of Druskininkai has a population of 23136 (2015 Census) and dates back as a spa resort to the 19th century.

We spend holidays in Druskininkai for two years and one of the most beautiful things here is the playing Fountain. The most spectacular view in the evening is when it gets dark, because it plays and "dances" and shines! The daughter likes to dance near the Fountain while playing music and be sprayed with water if a stronger wind blows. A very romantic place.

Fantastic choice of saunas and pools. Everything looks clean and tidy. A big thank you to staff member+sauna master Giedrius who was very helpful and friendly, advising us on where and when next sauna programme will be happening. Overall, very happy with our visit!

Very interesting place with a lot of wooden sculptures. Nice walk, quiet surroundings, you can feel nature around and feel strange about sculprutes. Thet seems sad, but there is something what you need to see.

There's no doubt this attraction is pretty unique. It's succeeded without any public funds to have translated monuments that once acted to oppress and annoy Lithuanian citizens in public squares, Bridges and building walls for 40 years into to a new setting that renders them faintly absurd. One can still admire the art or at least craftiness of the works, some of which I found quite beautiful as contemporary iconographic efforts. There doubtless is also the hunt for hidden messages and nuances that escaped censorship. There are a few small indoor museums and galleries which are eclectic and interesting. I loved a collection of bear-mascot memorabilia from the Moscow 1980 Olympiad. So there is a fascinating continuum from busts of the most savage and psychopathic apparatchiks of the Lithuanian Soviet government, communist 'heroes' terrorising the fledgling new Republic 1918-22 -- like four Young Communards that most Lithuanians know of through years of school propaganda --- on through the ranks of teddy bears and the amazing (non-functioning) drinks machine that involved the user taking the communal glass and placing it a washer apparatus before enjoying a 5 Kopek water with a burst of apple syrup... ---- there is the wacky playground apparatus glowing with nostalgia and the crazy emu birds racing up and down their enclosures. I'm sure the site is controversial but I think they've done well to take the sting out of the historical baggage with this family-friendly setting. The forest in which it is set was lovely with autumn leave and mushrooms and again it seems to act as a balm to the dark astringent themes of the main exhibit. I do wish they could have more galleries as I'm sure there's bags of material out there. The facilities for guests is almost Soviet in it's scarcity but there is at least one coffee shop and a rather modest gift shop. I'd suggest its well worth taking the trip to this slightly out of the way location. It was one of the favourite attractions on my whole stay.

I'm a skiing fan but that's the last place I would go for skiing.Very expensive with low level service.I took a coach for my wife while I was skiing.The price was as for good austrian instructor,however the level of teaching was pathetic.I would do better myself.Ski rent - that's separate topic.I've never seen such rubbish for rent in my whole life.The equipment they are givving for rent you wouldn't find even in trash containers in civilized countries.Though nothing surprising-that's the way bussines is done in that country...

This is a very nice looking church inside and out.
The church is a nice red brick building, with path ways leading up to it. The church is well maintained.
Two very large doors at the entrance and inside is very impressive.
If your in the area and have a interest in buildings or church's it definitely worth a look.

Great attraction - wonderful views of a city, forest, river. It's better to buy a ticket forward and back because it's cheaper that way (5€). When you transport from city, you can go to snow arena and also a fine restaurant in 50 m up high with some great view as well.

it is a beautiful lovely Orthodox church in the center of Druskininkai. It is mostly open in the morning on the weekends, check the hours for religious services on the door and make sure you do not leave Druskininkai without visiting this church.

In my memory it was a small house or maybe two small buildings with artist's paintings and music. But that memory comes from may years ago, when I first visited a museum with a school excursion.
Lastt December I visited it again with a friend and we had a very private excurion, just two of us walking through 4 buildings. Yes, the memorial house of Ciurlionis is actually 4 buildings that belonged to family.
There is a small information/ cash desk room, which is also a souvenir shop in the first building, and then visitors are shown the way to other three houses. The entraqnce fee is very small, I'd say really symbolic, and we were given a short free guided tour both in Lithuanian and English languages in the first room. Later we had a self guided tour with a possibility to read information sheets in eeach building. There was a woman who told us which room is which in each room, so I guess if we needed any additional information, we could get it too.
We saw a glimpse of Ciurlionis parents' life, some of his paintings and an expo of a modern artist's work featured in the last house. No real paintings of Ciurlionis here, only copies (reproductions), they are in the big art gallery in Kaunas.
The gift shop could be bigger and have more items to choose from, also it's easy to miss if you don't ask for it, because it's actually just a few shelves on the side of the room with a cash desk. The souvenirs we saw (and bought some) were really nice so, in my opinion, the museum should do something about making them more visible.

The museum is located in wooden hut that is master piece itself!
A lot of wooden sculptures around, rich collections of insects, butterflies,
whole scenes with high quality scarecrows, a lot of small wood works!
The ticket price is symbolic relatively to the art treasure you can see and touch!
I would recommend to stop here on the way to / from Druskininkai. You will enjoy of ~1 hour visit.
I was so impressed by artistic work of talented Lithuanians, took a lot of pictures in order to share my joy with my friends.
