We visited Dewsbury and found this lovely building near the old market place close to the centre. The building is Victorian and a historic town hall. It is also a place for Concerts and there is a notice board outside with events coming up. We didn't get a chance to see inside but we walked around the outside and it is truly a lovely building. There is a car park close by too - pay & display.

Called in about 7ish one evening. Only 3 other patrons. Good selection of real ales. Decor rather dark. Staff friendly enough but music so loud had trouble explaining what I wanted to drink. This bar will appeal to a certain cliente but not my scene

First visit here, and many great aspects, nicely laid out grounds, loads of great play areas for Kids, reasonably priced entry, good homecooked dishes in restaurant. Also on the day we visited a bouncy castle, balloon artist and magician all included in the price.
Not as many animals as I thought there would be and we felt there was an air of abandonment with many pens empty, we left feeling a sense of sadness for the animals, they did not look underfed or unhealthy but seemed sad. (Very difficult to explain.) Would visit again for the grounds and facilities though.

I paid for a week trial with Tiffany and her classes. GI can genuinely say I have never enjoyed exercise so much! I suffer with anxiety and other issues and so it took me over a year to build up the courage to attend. When I arrived the studio was warm, clean and inviting. The instructor Tiffany is loud, bubbly, friendly and really non-judgemental. She makes you work hard but you enjoy it so much that it doesn't feel like work. The firsts class I attended I didn't know I'd need to wear shorts and wore leggings. My legs had their natural thermal later haha yet nobody batted an eyelid. The first class I attended was a pole dancing class and I expected it to be full of slim, trim and young women but I was pleasantly surprised. There were women of all different shapes and sizes and ages! It was so motivating and enjoyable. I stopped attending for personal reasons but can't wait to go back once I've got myself sorted!

Dewsbury Market

Firstly there are precious few markets worth the name left in this area so please support this one where you can; really good value fruit and vegetables and still the remnants of cloth to keep something tangible to the industrial heritage. Secondly the town does look like it is dying and needs this market to provide the beating heart. Also we did eat some of that quiche in the market café; it was light with a fresh well cut salad-most people were eating variations on the breakfasts but so what? It was good.
