If you have 3 extra hours just do it, don't think twice just DO IT!
Rented a bike in Bruges (De Ketting) and had the most amazing experience.
It's about an hour ride each way in slow-normal speed, just perfect to not get too tired for inexperienced bikers but enough to enjoy the sights, I felt so calm and FREE, I wish I could ride in that place all the time, but since I can't it'll definitely be a ride I'll never forget!
It's funny because I came to see Bruges, but THIS is the real attraction in the area.

We went to the church as part of the best of Belgium tour with Quasimodo. This church is located on the main street of Damme. It was renovated over the years to meet the areas needs. It currently has plain stained glass windows and generous size interior. Taped music of a choir singing is being played when you enter which adds to the ambience. There is also a small cemetery located there as well.

The most beautiful mill I've seen, I'm glad I found out about it because the ride there was even more beautiful and without the mill I wouldn't have done it. If I'm not wrong once a week the mill is open for public.

The Ulenspiegel Museum gives an overview of five centuries of Ulenspiegel. The connection between the small town of Damme and Till Ulenspiegel goes back to the 17th century. Hero for freedom and jester, symbolising the Flemish spirit, he wanders about with his girlfriend Nele and his companion Lamme Goedzak.
Although very interesting, there is to much information in the old way : so many books and old posters. Could be so well presented. There is a great movie with Gérard Philippe as Tyl l'Espiègle, the hero with is complete forgotten. Uylenspiegel is based on an old german legend and made famous by the book of Charles De Coster (Brussels ) in french language. Every flemish boy knows this hero, who rebelled against the spanish occupation.

First if all Damne is a beautiful 'village' and this gallery is a hidden gem. on the main street. It's an art gallery as well as crafts-person gallery. Unique finds & gifts. Some of the best designer clothes at great prices-including Oska clothes line from Germany, purses from France. Owners are very lovely.

This was a delightful little studio. We were initially attracted by the little person pole vaulting and the ceramic birds on the rail. Inside the studio there was not a lot of action (at this time) but you could see that there was a great assortment of projects on the go.

The Golf & Country Club Damme has really a lot to offer. A warm welcome at the reception, where no question remains unanswered...no worry to find a parking spot. Parking is huge. Practice for long shots, drives, as well as a wonderful, large green, approach, chipping area, bunker...they have it all. Prepare yourself for the game, and go to the first.
The moment you're ready to hit that first ball over the water hazard, the course starts its challenge. All holes are so well kept, in an almost perfect shape to enjoy this beautiful lung in the middle of a wonderful natural environment. Enjoy every minute, every hole, every challenge.
After you've finished 18 holes, take a shower, have a drink, or a bite at the lounge......
This Country Club is so complete for a golfer. THAT is how a real golf course should, be and what it should offer...you'll find it at G&CC Damme. Do not pass it, it's worth every mile, every minute....
