I've always wanted to try Surfing, so I decided to book a myself a group Surfing lesson with Surf South West. When I arrived it turned out that I was the only one in the group (probably because it was off-season). I had my one-on-one lesson with Jack. Jack was really friendly, enthusiastic and made everything super clear and really easy to understand. We ended up having the whole of the sea to ourselves for 2 hours and I managed to stand up fully twice, which was amazing. I would definitely recommend this surf school and in particular a lesson with Jack.

I booked a kids Surfing lesson during Easter - the temperature was 8 degrees, so there was no way I was getting in the water but the kids (9 and 10) were insistent. Their instructor, Ian, was amazing. He ensured they had winter kit, including gloves, boots and hood. Their safety and enjoyment was paramount. Ian got both of them standing up after a bit of tuition - they really felt like pro surfers with the encouragement he was giving them. Although Mum and Dad were frozen on the beach, I think the kids would have stayed in all day with Ian if they could!

We booked a Surfing lesson for my boyfriend & sons. Unfortunately, there wasn't much surf on on the day we had booked but they had a paddle boarding lesson instead & got to ride a few baby waves. Lyndon & James made the session lots of fun. James took the time with my eldest, who was struggling & getting frustrated, by taking him to one side & really helped him. They all had a great time & they can't wait to have another when we visit next guest.

It's worth the struggle getting to park if you like a good walk and, on a clear day, there are stunning views across to Lundy or in both directions along the Devon and Somerset coast. You can Park in the National Trust car park (payment for non members). But if you are determined it's worth the struggle,at peak holiday times, getting there.

Lovely enclosed sandy bay with many surfers to observe. It’s great to watch them ride the surf. Could watch for hours! Haven for dog walkers as well. Parking is expensive but worth it if staying for an extended period.
Many bars, restaurants and cafes in the area. Why not twin a visit here to one to Staunton Sands a short drive away?

It's a nice place to surf and take a dip but it doesn't provide good facilities to change or shower after getting in the water. The toilets are filthy and there is an expensive charge for wifi (there's no signal by the beach).

We have been to the Deckchair cinema about 4 times, it's such a fun evening for kids and adults. Great way to see a current film. Kids and grown ups get to buy popcorn and drinks! We take a pillow along to add to the cosy set up. A definite must for an evening out. Don't be put off by the less advanced way you reserve the tickets, it works seamlessly, and a real reflection of the boutique and entrepreneurial nature of the cinema. Definitely on my Croyde bucket list!

The yoga, fitness, wonderful food, great surf, beautiful scenery and fun packed schedule really gave me a boost and positive outlook for the future.
The reboot team of Blakey, Bex, Phil and Lyn really made everyone feel welcome and taylored to every individuals fitness/dietry needs. The other guests were also a very friendly bunch which had me laughing all week long.
I will definitely be going back next year (mainly for the food and the petanque!)
