Conway is a town in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is the most populous community in the county, and the most populous in the state north of Lake Winnipesaukee. The population was 10,115 at the 2010 census, more than 1/5 of the total population of Carroll County. The town is near the southeastern edge of White Mountain National Forest. Cathedral Ledge (popular with climbers) and Echo Lake State Park are in the west. There are five villages in the town: Conway, North Conway, Center Conway, Redstone and Kearsarge. Additionally, it shares a portion of the village of Intervale with the neighboring town of Bartlett.

Highway 112, or the Kanc, runs from Center Conway to North Woodstock, just south of Franconia Notch. Passing through the White Mountain National Forest, it is considered one of the most scenic highways in the U.S. and offers a number of interesting stopping off points.

NOthing compares to the Kangamagus Highway. It has everything that draws the interest of the adventurer: covered bridge, waterfalls, historic sites, lots of hiking trails for beginners to experts. Its especially impressive in the winter when the snow is settled in the woods and along the trails. The Swift River is perfect for the amateur or professional photographer; especially at Lower Falls and Rocky Gorge. If you're daring you can stop along the way and get great shots of the river wit its clean water and interesting falls. Don't miss the Colbath House with its classic barn and simple cemetery. Stop for the historic markers if the history bug has bit you..

Took a ride up on the Cogway. The views from the top are spectacular even though the cold was finger numbing. The hot soup was a life saver. A must do if you are in the state.

Long winding steep road to the top but the views are well worth it. You may be lucky enough to see rock climbers scaling the ledge. Be sure to walk all around as there are multiple different views of different areas, Some have fencing to make it safer but there are other areas that you can get to to view other rock ledges and walls that have no fencing. A must if you are in the area.

Diana's Baths is very pretty when nobody is there, which is never. The Internet has hyped this attraction to the point that it is actually unpleasant to go there because of the crowds. The parking is inadequate, so they run a shuttle (not free) from town to the attraction. There is local concern that the large volumes of people there will actually damage the flora & fauna.

This senior found the short hike to the falls to be relatively easy, and well worth the effort. The falls themselves are beautiful, probably the best along the Kancamagus Highway, so we really enjoyed visiting them. Make sure that you pay the $5 parking fee because Park Rangers were checking vehicles and issuing tickets for non-payment whilst we were there.

I love this place and visit whenever we are in the area. The place is spotless, well managed and staff are terrific! I attend with my son who has autism and cannot ski or enjoy the other activities my other children partake in. The staff are friendly, well trained and a big part of this is due to management and Alex Johnson who is one fine human being and a credit to the establishment. Thanks and I hope you know how much this place means to us.

Echo lake is a great swimming spot for families with young children. Entrance is cheap, there is lots of shade and picnic tables, there is plenty of shallow water, the toilets are clean and the water is warm (unlike the Saco River). As an adult with teenage children I would not return but I definitely would have enjoyed it when my children were small.

This outlet mall has been around forever, however they have had a recent expansion which has moved the Polo RL from the other side of the main road, and added a few more stores including Columbia. The selection of stores is reasonable but it doesn't compare to some other outlet malls, however it does have the benefit of no sales tax. There is a lot of parking and a hotel that you could easily walk from / to. They have also opened a new restaurant which appeared to be popular, although there is already a wide variety of restaurants in the local area.

Enjoy an old-fashioned railroading experience with all trains departing from an 1874 station in North Conway Village. Whether you choose one of the Valley Trains to Conway or Bartlett, or take the Notch Train through spectacular Crawford Notch, this is a journey back in time the whole family will enjoy. Valley Train Season: mid-April through December. Notch Train Season: late June through mid-October. Coach, First Class, and Dining Car options are available on all routes. Chilren under 4 ride free in Coach on the Valley Trains. Well-behaved dogs are always welcome.

My husband and I took our granddaughter and her parents to the North Pole from the North Conway station in NH. Jack Frost cooperated by snowing the night before, so there was 4-6 inches on the ground. Huge for the ambiance.
My granddaughter is almost 7 years old, and was not quite sure if the big guy was real or not. She is now a HUGE believer! Everything about this trip was the best, from the train ride with cocoa and Santa’s favorite candy, to all the amazing elves, and the wonderful Santa, who shook each and every person’s hand in the whole place! The elves put on a wonderful show, and my granddaughter was quite smitten. We had the pleasure of two elves escorting us back to the train, and she was so excited! She became a believer! And the bell on the return trip? Cherry on the top!
Well done to ALL who make this magical trip so important and impressive to the little ones...and the older ones who believe in the power of the magic of Christmas!
