We live about 1 1/2 hours from here, so we want to feel like the end of the drive will be worth the trip. Munson may be a small museum, but we have enjoyed exhibits as varied as outstanding wood-carving, Seneca Ray Stoddard's photography, Georgia O'Keefe's paintings and a wonderful exhibit with hand-blown glass (an artist whose name escapes me). Never know what they will bring in next, so we check back frequently. This is a friendly place to wander, the security is visible but cordial and the museum's own collection of European masters is featured as well. Always a pleasure.

Utica Curling Club

Well first I have to say the staff were super efficient and informative. They made the curling experience great for everyone involved. We had a group of 50. Hopefully my co-workers don't get wind of this review.....they're not the most athletic bunch. But with that being said....they all participated and did really well. There was some lunging involved and a lot of sweeping : ). All participants were men ranging from 21 - 60 and they thought it was going to be boring. Well, second thing i have to say is that they all left smiling. They commented on it being challenging and fun. They may have been a bit sore the next day.

Tony's Pizzeria & Sports Bar

Reviewed By KayDubya66 - Utica , NY

went there with a group, at approximately 9:30p on a Saturday. Staff was hoping to close , there was no one in place. We all horribly disliked what we ordered. Chicken wings were just about the worst in the area, and theyre supposed to be a wing shop?? Friend ordered fried Waffle Fries, they were so burnt the potato in them disintergrated. Just real bad.

This lighting store is truly a delight. Since they hand-craft (and design) most everything they sell, a person can't help but marvel at all the intricacies and nuances. Seeing the hundreds and hundreds of examples gets your mind working on custom projects for yourself. The staff is helpful and willing to dream with you.

Clinton Cider Mill

Reviewed By Sonia719 - Woodbridge, Virginia

The cider press was not active when we were there. There was plenty of fresh cider for sale. Don't miss the sugar-cinnamon cider donuts! Fresh and tasty! The cider mill is located in the quaint college town of Clinton. In the old days this was a huge barn in full operation of pressing local apples into cider. Today it is smaller in operation with a gift shop and deli. It is worth a stop.

Wellin Museum of Art

Reviewed By Vicarmuddlebush

Lovely building, great exhibitions space, nice access to study materials in state of the art display cases.
The show we saw represented a great use of the Wellin's permanent collection, assembled to illustrate recurring themes and variations from a variety of periods and cultures.
Quite educational (illuminating in a Deweyan kind of way) as it should be, without being overly didactic.
A friendly and helpful student staff provided a warm greeting.
The Wellin is a must see and a great community resource.
We're hoping we get the recent exhibition's rather handsome catalog as a Christmas gift from a Hamilton student we know!
