Indoor area has numerous displays relating to aircraft and aerospace including a large section devoted to Leonardo Da Vinci which was very informative. Outdoors are several historic aircraft, mostly military, some of which you can go in to, giving a good perspective of what aviators had to deal with in years past. $15 entry fee seems a bit high, but there are some discounts for seniors, students, military.

Sacramento Children's Museum

Sacramento Children's Museum's opened our doors in 2011 with a mission is to spark a passion for life-long learning. We are accomplishing our mission by providing a place where children are encouraged to think for themselves, expand their problem-solving abilities through creative exploration, and exercise both their bodies and their minds. The Museum's hands-on environments provide children with a gateway for opening up their minds to developing new abilities, building confidence, and making connections between their dreams and real world experiences.

The museum is small but highly interactive for the space. Best for ages 3-9 with the middle of that range being the best target for the activities. It has been awhile since I visited but when we went they had a wall of vacuum tubes that was very engaging for the older end, a glass wall in the art room where artist could put on a smock and decorate, then a squeegee would wipe it all down so they could paint another masterpiece! There was a water play area, a "supermarket" and "Home" for interactive play and other activities. It is a local gem.

We love visiting the hatchery. The hatchery offers a free toddler story and craft time during the cooler months (too hot in summer). We love watching the fish jumping up the ladder during salmon season. It is so wonderful to have a great educational place for the family to come and learn about nature.

This park is probably the best hidden jewel in the Sacramento area varied choice of a park to experience nature. Many animals make there home here. Large deer populations, Coyote, Skunk, Squirels,Turkey's, Geese, Raptors, Turtles, and many more. The American River is in the backdrop of this amazing park.
The golf course can get busy but typically is easy to get a tee time . A beautiful course and great for walking. The Resturant is surprisingly good and it's a great spot to sit in the shade of the Live Oaks with your favorite beverage.

American River Raft Rentals

Reviewed By Adam C

Came here with my family over the weekend. We reserved a 6 person raft. It was smaller than I expected but we had only 5 people and one was a child so we had enough space.
The price was very reasonable. ~$120 for the whole thing, including shuttle tickets.

The check in process was efficient. We had to carry the raft from the rental down to the river, which was about a 5 - 10 min. walk. Getting it in the water was easy. Once we got down stream, the check out process was also straight forward.

Parking was a bit confusing at first as there wasn't a clear sign of entrance. Also, the bathroom situation wasn't great. But it is an outdoorsy place, so that's understandable.

Ancil Hoffman Golf Course

This 6,794-yard, 18-hole championship course has been designated in the top 75 public golf facilities by Golf Digest.

Reviewed By HEC140 - Sacramento, California

Hoffman has been a favorite of mine for decades.Until I joined Del Paso CC, I played it regularly. Had occasion to return today due to aeration at my home course. Hoffman is in wonderful shape. Fairways are great and greens excellent- fast and true! What a gem for a county course and for $26 for seniors. Only weakness is its bunkers- dirt not sand. A Marshall patrols for slow play. The routing has always been fun and creative. Just stay out of the trees!
Staff in proshop is pleasant as is the starter.
I just cannot say too much about the condition of the course complete with two fawns and doe on the 8th hole who paid little attention to the golfers. They seem to have chased away the geese that were there on my last visit.

River Rat Raft & Bike

WE provide rafts for self guided raft trips on the lower american river clean clear beautiful water with a bunch of splashing rapids. We also sell service and rent the best mountain bikes going.. come check us out

Reviewed By Indiana_Jonesse - San Francisco, California

There were about 30 of us who went. One person was in charge to check out/rent the rafts. The check out was simple and painless.

We tied four rafts together as we conquered the American River. The water level was low and rapids was like level 1 only :(

But whether you joined us or not, do not go to the river unless you were armed with water guns or covered with rain gear. Our group was like an army ready for mortal combat shooting the shooter with double bazookas, cameras and jello shots. One group of rafters (two rafts) dared us and started shooting at us. They were outnumbered as we all "ambushed" them with our water guns.

To make things clear, River Rat was the place we rented the rafts but the fun continued on while we were rafting. The service they provided us was great as we surrendered the rafts in the end (at the destination point) and we boarded on the bus provided by River Rat to be taken back to our cars.

Overall, was a great experience.

French in the Village offers French antiques, gift items and European women's clothing at wholesale prices. The store is open Tuesday-Saturday 11:00-5:00 pm or by appointment. Most items are one of a kind. The items are very unique and very reasonably priced.

If you're looking for clothing that is a bit out of the ordinary, this is the place. I have a hard time finding clothes that fit so was skeptical that I'd find anything at French in the Village. I was very surprised that I found several unique tops that fit and looked good. I try to stop in every few months since they get new inventory in regularly.
