If you have ever wondered where in the world can i find really unique products or where can I find those quirky items that are the basis of shabby-chic couture, this place is the answer. I have found clothes, both old and new that are really fabulous. And unlike trying to order online and being unsure if I'll be wasting my money, I love being able to see and feel the quality of the items, and even try on the clothing. It's also a springboard of ideas for making my own creations for our home. But take my advice, wear comfy, comfy shoes, take cash, since some of the antique/used product dealers do not take cards or checks, and allow yourself plenty of time--I like to go for minimum two days to see everything. If your husband is an impatient shopper, leave him at home. He will be happier, and so will you.

This was our first time to visit and we had the best day! The park is small enough that you don't wear yourself out walking to the different sections but large enough to accommodate small kids and big kids! My 3 year old had a blast on the castle slides and the lazy river floats around it which kept my 12 year old close. We will definitely go back!!

It is an interesting and fun visit if you have a little one that loves dirt. The rides are definitely 'yesterday' rides, nothing high tech. And our 3 year old grandson loved them. The rides are not included in the price of admission. Nothing other than walking around is included in the admission unless you buy it upfront. The major complaint is the lack of help. There were long lines for food and for most of the rides. Add to that the food stations registers are wi-fi, which was down most of the day, and the lines get longer and slower. Bring cash for food, no plastic if the wi-fi is down. It was fun, but we do not need to return.

Twin Lakes Golf Course

A hidden jewel in East Texas, Twin Lakes is a beautiful yet challenging course. A 200 acre daily fee course with GPS in all carts to please any golfer. Tif Eagle Bermuda greens average over 9000 square feet and there are 51 strategically-placed sand bunkers. Each hole has four sets of tees to accomodate all levels of players. There is also a driving range and putting green to utilize as a warm up prior to play. Visit the Pro Shop or Grille to make play even sweeter.

I very nice layout and great condition. A few greens are a bit overwhelming - greens were top-dressed so not as fast as advertised. Well maintained and watered - nice visuals on the holes and almost every hole could qualify as a signature hole. Things missing ar senior tees which would be nice to have given the difficulty of this track. Also not drink cart during the round. There are several water stops and they were well stocked. Some blind shots but the GPS equiped carts are very helpful and accurate. Would recommend visiting in the Spring when the flowers are in bloom. The other POI for this course is the web site that shows what appears as a majestic club house - the house is a private home - but still a pretty backdrop. The "club house" is rather small but the people are very friendly and appreciative. Locals travel up to an hour or more to request this course. Well worth the effort to go and play this one - excellent fairways and greens - very undulated and diificult from above the hole.

Old Mill Marketplace

I worked as a vendor at Old Mill Marketplace. The booth prices are mediocre during the summer but during peak seasons (April, May, October, November and December) the prices almost double. I would not recommend visiting Old Mill during the summer. The majority of the vendors are in one of the outside buildings. The booth space is very small. Old Mill also have little shops which are rooms for vendors who are interested in leaving their products from one month to the next. They are more expensive than the outside space but vendors usually use those shops for their sleeping quarters.

I love Texas Courthouses, and the Van Want County Courthouse is a beautiful example of the art deco style that few courthouses I've seen have. It's hard to get a great view of the whole thing (and they do leave the Christmas light up year round, I think-- at least they were up in April) but it's a pretty courthouse. If you enjoy seeing the different styles in the various counties, don't miss this one because while it's not the most ornate, it's one of the more unique I've seen.

Wired Zip Line Challenge

$55.00 per person is a steep price for this attraction. While it boasts the "longest zipline in TX", there is nothing thrilling about this attraction. There are 4 ziplines in a square pattern. So, you basically make a big square. There's no going through tree canopies, interesting skyline views.....just nothing. The decline in drops isn't even thrilling; they're all almost completely level. The front check in staff was pushy and rushing people to get ready and go out.

The actual staff ON the ziplines with us were awesome! There was this one guy who was a firefighter but working there part-time. He made fast friends with my 10 yr old daughter, tandem zipped with her and helped her out so much. He will be part of her awesome memory of the place.

I liked that they had early morning times, so we could avoid the 100+ TX heat. They were convienently located and accessible. But, on the whole, not thrilling and too expensive.

So, I'd give a 3 out of 5.
