My husband and I visited Burnie on the Norwegian Jewel in mid December and booked a day trip with Robyn after Reading her Trip Advisor reviews.
We weren’t disappointed! Robyn is a friendly and welcoming lady and made our day in Burnie and surrounds well worth it.
From Waterfalls, Lookouts, beautiful scenery and the history of the area to culinary delights such as chocolate, cherries, ice cream, whisky tastings and an amazing Tasmanian scallop pie for lunch - we couldn’t have asked for a better day!
We highly recommend you take a tour with Robyn - she will tailor it to your needs with a smile on her face and a welcoming hug!
Thank you Robyn - we hope to meet you again when we visit Tassie for a longer holiday.

This easily accessible waterfall can be viewed from the car park. There is a short path to a viewing platform which allows you to see the falls from slightly above. Just beyond the platform is a staircase with 62 steps that leads you to the bottom of the falls. If you can do this walk then do so, it is well worth it. Not only do you get closer to the falls but you get to view the very unusual rock formations. This is a great little waterfall and is well worth the effort to visit, we actually went twice.

This volunteer run attraction is awesome. We were lucky enough to be there in December when the chick feeding season is happening. The volunteer guides are very patient and informative. We were so mesmerized and amazed we went back a 2nd night, but not until around 9pm because there's not much happening until then. Well worth rugging up and being patient. Please ensure you donate a gold coin to this wonderful volunteer organisation.

This is just a couple of km from the center of Bernie, and we decided to do a walk along the river since it is a well known spot for sighting platypuses. Unfortunately we didn't see any (perhaps it was too warm), but there were lots of information signs about them along the walking trail, and even a couple of viewing platforms, so they must be seen quite often here. We walked upstream about a kilometer or so (grabbing a couple of geocaches along the way) along a lovely riverside trail. It was very picturesque and the epitome of tranquility, with lots of ferns and greenery as well, so even though we didn't sight a platypus, it was still a very nice walk. There are lots of picnic tables located in various places, and also a couple of sets of public toilets here.

A great way to support local artists but definitely aimed at the tourist market. The art and paper sculptures are worth the visit. The volunteers are amazing and extremely helpful!

Although I'm a lover of whiskys my wife isn't, so she was a bit unsure about our visit. We had one day in Burnie, arriving on a cruiseship. We wanted a tour combining siteseeing, wineyards and good food. Cherie met and excedeed our expectations. Her selection of the wineries, restaurant and visit was perfect. We met interesting producers, proud of their cheeses, wines and more. Cherie is a great hostess and guide. We wish we had more than a day in this beautiful part of Tasmania.

Dropped into this museum expecting to see the usual small town collections - this museum had been set up as a street scape of early 1800 businesses - whilst strolling from shop window to the next the audio and visual effects highlight each shops collections - lighting and effects take you back to that era - well worth the small entrance fee - very good shop on site selling books etc about the early tassie times - the experience was great thanks to the lovely knowledgable gentleman at the door highly recommend taking an hour to look through - great for kids

Burnie Park has many outstanding features that make it ideal for family outings.
A big expanse of lawns and rose garden attract visitors year round.
A lovely BBQ area, off street parking and more, Burnie Park is a must see...with it's own waterfall and walk...a real gem!
