Overlooking Buriram city - there is a steep very long set of stairs up the hill or a nice small concrete road.
In these temperatures I choose the second possibility - good view and a snack and drink kiosk on top.
Big Buddha image - statue and a hanging bridge on the way for small thrill seekers.

Wat Pa Khao Noi

Reviewed By Sirator - Kristiansand, Norway

If you search the Wat Pa Khao Noi on the internet, you will not find much information about when it was built, why it was built or if there are any special purpose behind the construction or location. And you will not find much information in site either, at least not in a language other than Thai. The temple appears to be a relatively new building, so far in approximately Khmer style, but with clearer Buddhist symbols. However, it may appear that there are used elements of ancient volcanic stone for construction. There is no Buddha figure, but there are a sculpture of a probably highly regarded monk. The temple is probably acquired this monk. Outside the building has many fine details, and the surroundings are nicely landscaped. It was very quiet when we visited the place, but the temple is evidently in active use, because there were several houses for monks and nuns in the surroundings. If one day you have nothing else to do in Buriram, make a trip here and search tranquility.

Also called "walking street" - central location in town offers a mix of great local food, clothing, souvenirs and live music. Really good atmosphere and well worth a visit - much more choice than some of the other night markets I've been to in Thailand. Very relaxed and nobody 'bugging' you to buy this and that because you're a foreigner. A lot of Buriram-themed clothing for sale so you can take the brand with you when you go home.

So far, after many researches on the web, i think J&D is the only one renting big bikes in Buriram.
Communication was really excellent, as it was my 1st time in Isaan and had many questions about my journey there regarding all the needed stuffs & infos for securing my big bike trip over there.
Henk (the owner) was a great help, speaks of course fluently English and always replied fast to my (so many) mails from abroad.
I've rented a Kawasaki Versys 650 which was well maintained and i was feeling secured with it. Reliable and easy to drive motorbike, matching well to the trip i had planned.
Rental fee was 2.200 thb / day, which was ok for a big bike like that.
J&D was easy to find, well located in Buriram.
Not only service was good, but even excellent as on return of the motorbike, a good surprise was waiting for me : a very nice Cognac was offered to me, and as a Frenchman, i really appreciated that.
Thanks for all Henk, i of course recommend warmly J&D for your scooter or big bike renting in Isaan. Bobby.

Adjacent to the impressive Buriram United football stadium and Formula 1 designed Buriram Racing International Circuit, the Buriram Castle mall is a great place to unwind and chill out any day! Not only are there a range of restaurants selling food from many different parts of the world, including a McDonalds and KFC, there is also a replica of the ancient Khmer temple, Phanom Rung, and there is also a sculpture park. The sculpture park exhibits sacred sexual acts carved onto large stones, so if you have young children you may choose to give the park a miss, if you don't want to answer some difficult questions! My children aged 9 & 11 took it in their stride, and particularly enjoyed the cactus park too!

Buriram Monsters Fishing Park

Reviewed By hunterlahone - England

Having fished around Thailand quite extensively, we were visiting family in Buriram and looking for somewhere decent for some fishing. Plenty of small fishing parks around, but only Striped Catfish, Small Tilapia and Rohu Carp. (And none of them are even on internet!). However, found Buriram Monsters Fishing Park on Facebook, and made contact with the owner, Win, on our arrival. So glad I did!! Fishing is 1500 THB per day, which includes rod, bait, and the company of Win and his helper, who will bait hooks, mix bait, net fish, and generally make sure you have a great day! Could not fault fishing or service. I know that's not cheap, but you have to realise that some of these fish cost hundreds of thousands of Baht to import and stock, so I think it's great value for money. Only 20 minutes drive from town, no bad traffic like Bangkok! This place is not like Bungsamran, which mainly has Mekong Catfish, there are many more species on offer here. I always wanted to catch an Amazon Redtail Catfish and an Alligator Gar, and got both of them, plus a few more to tick off my bucket list! Myself and my son in law caught around 30 fish in one day, Redtails to 25 pounds, Striped Catfish to around 20 pounds, lots of smaller but gorgeous Tiger Shovelnose Cats who are eager to take literally any bait you have on, plus a big Walking Catfish (far too big for Thai favourite barbecued"Catfish on a Stick!")
Species stocked include Arapaima, (Huge, but not easy to catch!), Amazon Redtail, Walking Catfish, Siamese Carp, Tiger Shovelnose, Moto Stingray, Ripsaw Catfish, Striped Catfish, Giant Mekong Catfish. The list is endless!
Overall impression: 5 Star Fish, 5 Star Fishing, Beautiful scenery, and a 6 Star Host in Win and company. I shall return, and spread the word. When more people get to know about this Fishery, I think Win will need more helpers!
