I didn't expect the interiors to be so beautiful. Instead of dark walls like in gothic churches, Sagrada Familia is filled with light. Gaudi was inspired by nature. The pillars mimic tree trunks rising to meet the sky.
This is unique and very special architecture. It is sad to think that Gaudi died from a car accident. No one recognized him so he didn't receive immediate attention. An unfortunate ending for a great architect.

Universidad Industrial de Santander

I arrived in Bucaramanga on december 1st and the next day visited the industrial university of Santander also known as la UIS or la Universidad Industrial de Santander. The campus is beautiful and the faculty polite and accessible. I asked if there was a need for English professors and they had me come back and take the exam at the school of languages 48 hours later. Hopefully I can get a work visa and start in February. Regardless I would recommend a visit for travelers with subs time in Santander Colombia

Located only a short distance from Bucaramanga the park is not only accessible but is accessible once there. The gondola/cable car ride is highly recommended, as well as visiting the momument to Stanander history.

La Casa del Libro Total

Reviewed By Ethan A - Boston, Massachusetts

My Wife and I visited la Casa de el Libro Total at the invitation of a friend in March during the "Principito" month and we were enchanted by the whole experience. We saw the art exhibit of paintings by a Bucaramanga artist, a lecture on St. Exupery, a musical performance, a play and a lecture on three different nights.
It was wonderful sitting under the stars enjoying Bucaramanga's delightful weather and the artistic accomplishments of so many fine young artists and performers from the area. Kudos also to the Navas family for their dedication to the cultural enrichment of the city and its people and for presenting a model that should be adopted by other cities around the world.
Highly recommended.

Bucaramanga is the city of parks, and this one is another small, lovely park with the distinction of a large Fernando Botero sculpture. The piece is beautiful; the park is well used by locals and offers the calming benefits of a small park with a fine art bonus!

Iglesia San Laureano

Reviewed By lsmkw - San Francisco Peninsula

Large church, well utilized on Sunday morning. 6 - 12 large religious figures on poles for carrying during parades/ceremonies were on the side of the (next to pews) and that was unique and interesting. Otherwise, the church is typically constructed. Nice, but not outstanding. It has a good feel, with many locals in and around. A park outside also well utilized and loved.
