Blackbird Distillery

Step back in time at Blackbird Distillery and experience old-fashioned moonshine made completely by hand, just like the old-timers did in the woods. Stop in to try a sample and listen to the staff talk about the history of moonshine and the whiskey rebellion.' Blackbird owners David and Jennifer Black pride themselves on producing their moonshine using a single run process. The shine is made in small batches, yielding just 40 fifth-sized bottles in each run, each resulting in a different alcohol proof. Their corn whiskey starts with mashing the corn by hand. The mash in then fermented and piped into the stills. Each bottle is hand-corked, sealed with hot wax, and labeled with the batch proof written by hand. Blackbird Distillery has 19 flavors of moonshine with more coming soon. While people rave about Blackbird’s moonshine, their canned goods and smoked meats and cheeses have developed a fan following as well. Blackbird smokes their own beef and pork jerky, ring bologna, and offers over 15 varieties of smoked cheese. You’ll love their homemade canned goods and moonshine barbecue sauces. For an unforgettable experience, visit Blackbird Distillery.

Stopped here while in the area because of signs seen for this distillery. Have been to a few other distilleries and find this one very interesting. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Three free samples are offered along with the option of purchasing four more options. Great variety of flavors. Different sizes are available to purchase. Convenient parking. Clean interior. Water available to cleanse one's palate between tastings. Mask wearing and other precautions in effect.
