Automobile history comes alive in Snook's Dream Cars Automobile Museum, fittingly located adjacent to one of America's first cross-country highways, U.S. 6, in Bowling Green, Ohio. Your journey in the "past lane" begins as you step into an authentically recreated 1940s-era Texaco filling station, featuring an extensive collection of "automobilia" - everything from hood ornaments and window cranks to seat covers, bug remover and backseat touring games. You will continue past an operational, four-bay mechanics' area where vintage vehicles are repaired, and into a working museum of coin-operated amusements, ranging from pinball and slot machines to a Model-T Kiddie Ride (bring along your quarters!). You won't want to miss the antique pedal cars, Texaco promotional gimmicks or the classic collection of automobile decanters, some still holding their original Jim Beam brew. When you've had your fill of these "time machines" wheel into a spectacular showroom of dream cars from the '30s, '40s, '50s and '60s. Well, we found this place through Harvest Hosts as we use them with our RV. What a gem of a place. Such a great little “museum” if you will. So much memorablilia and so well put together, and the gorgeous cars that Jeff has on display and they all run! Neat as a pin, fun, interesting too. We played old slot machines, pin ball, and other fun restored game machines. A step back in history for sure. Loved it. Right off I75 too!

The Wood County Museum is the site of the former County Infirmary, which operated from 1869-1971. The building was repurposed into a Museum, which re-opened in 1975. The Museum has public events throughout the year and the Museum is open daily with the feature exhibit "For Comfort & Convenience". This exhibit features documentary photography coupled with interpretive information about all 88 county poor farms in Ohio, up until the 1930s when public charity transitioned into the modern ideas of social work. With my 10 year old granddaughter and I taking two hours to see this wonderful museum, the out buildings, and thousands of photos covering over 100 years of history, this is a great place to stop and explore. Staff were very helpful in explaining the different rooms full of history. Just a small suggestion - create wax figures of some of the people that either lived there or worked there would be a good addition especially for children to see and/or relate to.

While visitng family in Bowling Green, my wife and I took a couple of hours and visited Simpson Garden Park. It was July and the day lillies werre in full bloom. This is a wonderful park to visit and the various colors of day lillies are very impressive. I did not know there were so many different species of day lilies. If in the BG area, a visit to Simpson Garden Park will not disappoint.

Otsego Park has the Thompson Stone Hall (perfect for weddings) available for rent, two playgrounds, river walk, pollinator garden, Window on Wildlife area, and a boat launch. This is the home of the park district's canoe livery. There are also many programs offered here such as: archery, photography tours, Going Green Home & Garden series and Friends of the Parks memebership luncheons. Otsgeo Park is open 365 days a year from 8:00 am until 1/2 hour past sunset.

Went to a wedding at this park the other day. The views of the Maumee river are beautiful. Great for taking wedding pictures with a wilderness back drop. The pavilion was both a little rustic from the outside but when you got inside it gave you the feeling of being a little homey. The pavilion seats about 120 people comfortably.

The Carter Historic Farm is a 1930s Living History Museum and working farm. Cultural programs and annual special events bring history to life. While at the farm, meet the sheep and chickens, visit the Zimmerman one-room schoolhouse, and walk the trails through the woodlot and the restored wetland. Have some fun down on the Farm!
