We went for horse riding with small children (6 and 4) and I liked the most that they were in safe professional hands with well trained horses.
The place is in the country side, no car sound, the horses are free behind their fence and there was a big variety of birds that we saw.
Children loved it !!!

Our experience with Bougainville Divers was mixed. Their facility, boat, and staff were fine. Everyone was friendly. The equipment seemed in good condition, though there wasn’t a huge selection in wetsuits; the one I wore was a bit big, trapping water, but the best available. There wasn’t one that fit my son, so one of the staff let him use his – thank you again, Sam!
Viz was decent; 15+ meters, but we didn’t see a whole lot, (a few seahorses though) but that is largely out of Bougainville's control and has no bearing on this review. We were at 15 meters depth.
There were about 12 divers on the boat and we were split in two groups. Our group included two families of 3 and we were given a dive master in training. She was very nice, but her strict buddy system of always staying arm’s distance away from each other took the pleasure out of the dive.
I was assigned to be her buddy, my daughter (25) & son, (14) were paired & the other family of 3 (dad & 2 teen boys) were together. Throughout the dive, I was continually, repeatedly, given the signal (two index fingers side by side) to stay by her. The trouble was, since I couldn’t predict her movements, I had to constantly watch her (which means NOT watching anything else). I would no sooner look away at a fish or coral, when I’d find she’d turned left or right and I had to quickly join her – and by that I mean, NEXT to her – like less than 2 meters/6ft, so I wouldn’t get in trouble. It was constant work and took all the fun out of the dive. It wasn’t just me, she was always pointing to my daughter asking her to stay right next to my son, and to the other family as well, who were fairly experienced divers.
I understand she was in training, and only considering our safety, but there should be a balance between safety and enjoyment. In this dive, her obsession on being side by side took a lot of the pleasure and enjoyment out of the dive – for all three of us. On the boat, I told her I think we may have a difference of opinion on what it means to have a "buddy" - I asked her to define the distance we should be and she said ARMS LENGTH away. Ugh. I would’ve been fine staying within 10’ or 3-4 meters, but always being right next to her was annoying. Esp when we were only at 15 meters depth, viz was over 15 meters, current was not strong. Plus, when you’re that close, you end up with fins in the face.
The other thing that bothered me was the amount of touching and picking up of things that went on with the kids in the other family…with no apparent notice by our dive master. I learned to dive in Australia – with my hands either folded in front or clasped behind (and NEAR, but not arms length away from my dive master). I learned you do NOT touch what you see. In Thailand, everyone did the same – arms folded, at your side, or behind. Our experience in Cozumel & Hawaii was the same. I remember thinking that there must be some unwritten rule about how you keep your hands during a dive, since everyone seemed to follow the same procedure. But here, it was different. The teen boys were constantly picking up things off the ocean floor, touching coral, reaching out to try to touch fish; it was hard to watch, and no mention was made of it by the dive master. Only the constant admonishing to everyone to stay closer.
Also, when you return to the dive center after your dive, you gather to review your dive, consult the fish books to see what you saw, etc. None of their books were in English, which made identifying what you saw difficult, especially since, though communication was fine (especially Ivana), English was not the primary language for much of the staff, consequently, all of our dive logs have very little comments for our Croatia dives.
So in summary, I would recommend Bougainville as a dive center only IF you can verify you will be given an experienced dive master (as opposed to one in training) who will do what they can to make sure your dive is safe AND enjoyable. Rudi, Sam, Ivana were all great, so for them and the dive center – 5 stars. Have to knock off a star for our personal diving experience though.

This place is very small and somewhat thrifty in its display of artifacts, but you have to appreciate the effort – after all it is a very small town. The place has a brief description of town’s modern history, some medieval pieces and some antiquity pieces. There is a rather large exhibition of recently discovered 16th century chip wreck (displaying the ship parts and the load: glassware and other kitchenware from 16th century).

Had a lovely day out on the water. With no boat license you are limited to boats under 10HP so had limited options to hire boats. Hired a Passara with Kulas rentals. Very efficient and prompt and boat in good condition. Took the boat out all day, anchored in coves, swam from the boat and had a fantastic day. The guy from Kulas was pretty rude though-maybe a language thing but lots of rules in the morning and no pleasantries when we got back. Doesn't cost to be polite to customers
