The Detroit Zoo has 125 acres of naturalistic habitats for more than 2,000 animals from anteaters to zebras and features award-winning attractions such as the National Amphibian Conservation Center, Great Apes of Harambee and Arctic Ring of Life. The Zoo’s newest attraction is the spectacular Polk Penguin Conservation Center, the largest facility for penguins in the world.
Although we visit the zoo regularly, we love spending New Year's Eve at the Zoo for Zoo Lights! It is so awesome to walk the park in the dark by the glow of the millions of lights they have depicting various things, as well as the dancing lights! The 4D show, hot chocolate, specialty liquor and beer, and local food favorites are also available.

Played Rackham Golf Course a Donald Ross designed course dating back to the 1920's. A wonderful course that is challenging and fun. The clubhouse is under complete renovation. 18-hole par 35 course with 3 sets of tees measuring 5413-, 6253- and 6555-yards.

Voted "Best Place to Buy Original Art and Local Craft" by HOUR Detroit magazine, The Rust Belt Market is the intersection of creativity and business. Its founders transformed a vacant big-box store into an event venue and hub of 50+ independent retailers-offering a unique mix of goods both handmade and collected by local artists. Explore and leave inspired.
The site has gone through many incarnations, including an Old Navy Outlet store. It is currently a denizen for many local entrepreneurs to open a space to sell art, t-shirts, furniture, vintage games, scuplture, natural soaps herbs sachets, and more, historical photos, memorabilia, and more. Funky, fun, lots of great Michigan stuff.
Some of the venues will take credit cards, some are cash only

An awesome place for food, shopping, people watching & exercise. All the high end designers, anchored by big box stores Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's & Nordstrom, are here.
The food court blows all other malls out of the water. Just walking around the mall gives you miles of exercise as you window shop & people watch. If you can't find it here, you aren't trying!

I love this theater. In fact it's the only theater I ever go to! Plus, the fact that you can take in an awesome beer or some fantastic coffee makes it even better. Also, the food is good and always very fresh.

on hand and opened to demonstrate to children or whomever. There is an endless supply of magic props, videos and whatever you could possibly want for some magic tricks. The staff was happy to demo all tricks after I purchased the kids for my nephew. My nephew loves this place, he's in complete awe and happy surprise every time we go here. He loves to visit Wunderground anytime he's in town from Kzoo, it's a must every visit.

This is a great theatre. Seats are great, except for one thing....they're so comfortable, you might fall asleep. Free refills on popcorn and sodas and super nice personnel. Didn't like the fact that there was only one operational elevator the day we went, but other than that, it was a great experience.

This is my favorite hands down place for massage. The owner is capable and caring. The atmosphere is calming. There is no doubt that I will leave feeling relaxed knowing that problem areas have been addressed. Obviously massage is a personal experience but I feel clients are treated professionally with a real care and concern.

The Franklin Cider Mill will forever be my favourite - I grew up going there for a doughnut after school in the fall and they just bring back great memories. The cider is crisp, the doughnuts are fresh, and they have all kinds of wonderful jams, cheeses, and produce. Just remember to bring cash!

Although admission is a bit pricey it is well worth it. The exhibits, both permanent and temporary are full of fun, informational, and interactive features right on Cranbrook's beautiful campus. The traveling Chocolate exhibit was really neat, featuring interesting facts and history about the sweet treat. The rest of the museum had displays about both world and Michigan geographical/science history. There is a cafe on site but it was closed on the Saturday we went on. We would come back when the exhibits change around again as its a great local attraction and learning environment!
