Belgaum (also known as Belagavi, Belgavi and Venugrama or "bamboo village") is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka located in its northern part along the Western Ghats. It is the administrative headquarters of the eponymous Belgaum division and Belgaum district. The Government of Karnataka has proposed making Belgaum the second capital of Karnataka, hence a second state administrative building Suvarna Vidhana Soudha was inaugurated on 11 October 2012.

6 kms from Gokak town in Karnataka's Belgaum District is located this beautiful waterfall. Water of Ghataprabha river falling 170 feet from the sandstone cliff here offers a spectacular sight. The gorge offers a very scenic location with the river winding its way in a horseshoe shape. The mild roar of the waterfall falling on your ears even before you can see the waterfall, adds to the awe of the experience.
A hanging bridge just before the waterfall and an ancient Lord Mahalingeshwara temple near the waterfall are other main attractions here. State government needs to fix protective railings on all the areas and spots from where the waterfall is watched by the visitors.

The word "Military Mahadev" sounds music in my ears. It is the pride possession of Belgaum (now Belagavi). Right from my one year childhood stay to one year career stint to now occasional visits to the lovely Belagavi, I can't avoid Military Mahadev. Each time, I have emerged enriched. The place is cleanliness personified and has a calming influence . A fine admixture of divinity and tourism pervades the huge campus much to the visitors' delight. The splendid property can be enjoyed by the adults and the children alike. Tucked in the camp area near Tilakwadi, little away from the city, it can be easily accessed through city buses and autos. Wouldn't say much than asking you not to miss out on this when in "kunda nagari" Belagavi.

A nice place to visit, it has car parking facility.evening it opens for visitors at 4 pm.It has a very big hall with Ramakrishna Parama hamsa ,Sharadadevi and Vivekananda's pictures on the stage.The granite flooring, and the surrounding is kept spic n span, a quiet place n beautiful serenity enjoyed by senior n middle aged people .good place to visit. It has yoga hall n meditation hall .

Kids can run around while you soak in the ancient atmoshphere . All done in twenty minutes but you really need to study the ancient architecture and that will take an additional ten minutes.

We always crossing jamboti hills while coming goa.These Mountains are covered with clouds,green trees .Always fog smokes here.We are enjoying the climate.In jamboti village you will get snakes and drinks.Some times we will see wild animals on road.

A fort high up in the Mountains with a small temple inside.
During the monsoons the clouds cover the place and it looks beautiful.
Just make sure you don not mess around with the locals as they are not too friendly especially if you are driving/riding a Karnataka registered vehicle.

First of all, there is no entry for public to view the serenity of the dam. But again, there is a jugaad way of doing it. We were on tour to Gokak Falls and Godchinmalki Falls and on the way, we thought of having a look at the mesmerising beauty of Hidkal Dam. The Gatekeeper at the entrance of the dam stopped us saying that it is not a public picnic spot but a strategic location of the government, …we were like yaa yaa!@#$%^ `with big disappointment of not getting into the dam premises, we continued our travel back to Belgaum via SH134. Guess what, we found our jugaad way of entering the dam, the dam walls had umpteen convenient stairs throughout the circumference of the dam. We parked our car nearby and took one of those several flights of stairs. Unfortunately, we took the one which had around 200 steps later we realized that there were others which had less than 50 steps. But nevertheless, the very sight of the dam filled with water and the sun setting the background gave a very pleasant and fascinating view, yet another photo opportunity! Overall had a very great time!
