Pickie Family Fun Park

Pickie Fun Park was extensively redeveloped in 2012. Children can play in the adventure playground, enjoy the watery fun of the splash pads, enjoy a ride on the electric car track or climb aboard the Pickie Puffer for a narrow-gauge railway journey around the colourful landscape. All the family can pedal a giant Swan around the shallow waters of the lovely Lagoon, compete with each other in our mini golf course or take a break in the cafe. The fun park is at the gateway to the Marine Gardens, a delightful stretch of coast for leisurely walks. There are panoramic views of Bangor Bay and the hills of Antrim beyond. Just take a seat, relax and marvel at the wonders all around, or eat your picnic before making your way round to Wilson's Point. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the views over Belfast Lough.

Plenty for the kids to do here - especially on a sunny day. Adventure playground suitable for kids of all ages, splash area, paddle boats, miniture train ride, crazy golf, bouncy castle, etc... Unfortunately many of these actovoties (other than play park and splash area) require payment which can make it expensive when you have a couple of kids. There is a standard cafe on site which is large but nothing special. Easy access to lovely walks along the shoreline at Marine Gardens.Parking can be difficult as there is nothing nearby - you need to find a space somewhere in Bangor town centre and walk along to Pickie.

Hasn't changed much over the years but still lovely spot for a peaceful walk in middle of Bangor. Amazing to still see some of the birds-peacock's feather display absolutely beautiful. Lovely wee play area for kids and putting green still there though limited opening hours at present. Very tranquil and lovely for a wee walk. Children will love watching the ducks etc.

North Down Museum

North Down Museum tells the story of the North Down area from the Bronze Age to the present day through a series of rooms, each dedicated to a particular era of history. Key artifacts on display include the Bronze Age Ballycroghan Swords, the Bangor Bell from the hugely important Bangor Abbey settlement, and the Raven Maps, the only complete folio of Plantation era maps in Ireland. North Down Museum is situated at the rear of the Town Hall, Bangor Castle, on Castle Park Avenue. The Castle, built for the Hon. R.E. Ward in 1852, had a courtyard and stables and the Museum has developed around these. North Down Museum is a FREE attraction in the heart of Bangor. Here you can also rest and enjoy a meal or snack in Coffee Cure, the Museum café.

Brilliant day!!!
We found Plant and Play through Netmums when searching for something different for our daughters 6th birthday party.
We contacted Vikki and had a chat about what was on offer, all sounded good so we went ahead and booked straight away for 15 kids.
Vikki told us about the added attraction of Casey's Creatures experience with the meerkat, snake, lizard, owl, tarantula and various other creepy crawlies!!!!
We decided that was definitely for us and how glad are we that we did????
It was amazing, all the kids (even these who were a bit timid) absolutely loved it.
They all got the opportunity to touch the animals and we even got to see the monitor lizard have his lunch, a mouse (dead of course!!) which the kids thought was brilliant!!!
Pixi Prickles the resident rescued hedge-hog was an instant hit with all the kids as was the 'blonde' African desert hedge-hog, very cute!!
After the animals Vikki took over and did some crafts with the kids before they potted and planted their very own seeds in little pots, my kids can't wait to see what grows!!
After that we had lunch and although Plant and Play don't have food making facilities I went to McD's which is 5 mins away and returned with 15 Happy Meals which went down a storm....... (literally as we had a thunderstorm overhead at the time!!)
A bit of playtime in the garden afterwards and then ready to head home.
The kids all had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and we got them to bed early last night as they were knackered after all the fun!!!
All in all a fantastic day and big thanks to Vikki and Casey for making the day special!!
We will definitely be back over the summer holidays for some of the activities that are planned,
Thanks Vikki

Our son loves coming here (ok! So do I!). There is a very good go kart track and good safety procedures .
There are many other areas of entertainment such as computer simulators for racing cars, indoor football, tennis etc plus I spotted Zorba balls.
It's great fun.
Roughly £20 for 15 minutes on the go kart , but going from memory here
