This is a picturesque route to take, from just before Coffs Harbour to Armidale. A number of easily accessible breathtaking Waterfalls are to be found - Eber, Wollomombi and others. Nice drive, bathing in the wonder of nature. You'd pass historical towns and will be able to take a tour in the past through easy strolls of these towns. Parks near every waterfall with children's play equipment - a great drive having picnics and loads of fun, mingling in the nature!

This is somewhere that I have been many times throughout my life and each time I find something different and new. The falls are beautiful and it doesn't really matter if they are roaring or just peacefully falling (dependant on the water supply) these falls have an impact. They were in our family travel diaries when we were young, and we are still going back now! A beautiful part of Australia.

New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) is home to a number of nationally significant collections of Australian art including the Howard Hinton Collection (1880s-1930s); the Chandler Coventry Collection(1960s-80s) and the NERAM Collection (1980s- present day). These collections include paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture. The Exhibitions program includes the permanent exhibition 'HINTON: Treasures of Australian art' featuring over 130 works from the Howard Hinton Collection as well as visiting Exhibitions by visiting and local artists with something for everyone to enjoy. Gifts, souvenirs, cards and books are available from The Museum Shop and you can enjoy breakfast or lunch at the NERAM Cafe. Also, Saumarez Café only open weekends 10am to 4pm. This unique house and farm museum has over 10,000 objects in its collection. Stunning historic country homestead with Gardens, farm buildings and a cafe giving you an insight into rural life in the 1800's. Available to the public for tours, weddings, functions and events. This ten-hectare grazing property was first inhabited by British settlers led by Henry Dumaresq in the 1830's. Today it includes an elegant, extensive, fully furnished Edwardian homestead, built between 1888 and 1906, and 15 farm and other buildings dating up to 1910, with their collections of early farm equipment. Take a guided tour through the White family's 30 room Edwardian mansion complete with original furnishings. Stroll through Mary White's garden, with its Jocelyn Brown style cottage garden, the picking garden, the heritage rose garden and the lawns. Visit outbuildings complete with 19th century tools and equipment. Allow at least half a day to see this extensive property, and experience 19th century pastoral life.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beautiful homestead. We were shown around the property by the Property Manager who provided us with so much information and helped us to imagine what this home would have been like in its heyday. One of the highlights of our stay in Armidale

Having the time to stop and explore the Wild Rivers National Park is one of the great Northern New South Wales. The scenery is essentially the Australian Bush. With great Waterfalls and rivers. Easy accessibility.

I found that the stained glass windows, the statues, the vaulted ceiling and the beautiful Sanctuary, contributed to the atmosphere when I attended Christmas Carols there.The choir was great and the magnificent Organ and other instruments added to the joy of the occasion. Well done.

Technically speaking this is called Dangarsleigh Falls as it's accessed from Dangarsleigh Rd.
Dangar Falls is close to the town of Dorrigo, and is a completely different type of waterfall.
Both well worth visiting though if on the way along Waterfall Way.
Track can be a little rough in areas under foot.

Lots of car parking access but never busy, gas barbeques are provided nearby so easy to unload your lunch! As the creek tumbles off the range it provides endless rock pools to swim in - "rock hopping" a popular past time. The water is warm enough in summer. Don't bother trying in winter or when the flood waters are coming down. A beautiful 5km or so walk takes you through the bush to the edge of the rim, 140 metres or so above the creek. Part of the walk is along the channels dug in the 1800s to generate hydro power for the region so the whole area has historical significance, beautiful views or is just for lazing around in the water. Great place to bring kids.

Boolloominbah Collection was a most welcome Restaurant in which to enjoy a great lunch on a special occasion.
The walls were bedecked with prints, etchings and art works.
The building was stately.
The food was most welcome.
Succulent Caesar Salad was served with a poached egg and crisp Turkish bread with a sharp dressing to make a fabulous flavour once the soft egg yolk was combined with the cos lettuce and fried bacon. It was delicious!
Grilled Whiting with slivered Brussels sprout salad was unusual but delicious.
Champagne accompanied this meal on a special occasion.
Well worth the experience and most economical.
