Really must see this place!
I've seen it in photos during my life here in Greece... but it's not even close...
I mean... it's impressive!
You see ages and ages of structure made by a nature it self!
Beautifully preserved!
You must have a guide, so that you can understand where to watch, and what you're watching.
It's so much better live than from the photos... and it's really close even from Athens...
Must see!

A surprisingly interesting look at a restored miniature industrial site. The buildings were used for the production of leather, milling and producing gunpowder. The information boards are backed-up with some engaging and informative videos. The small gift shop has some really good work by local designers.

Only a about 15km from Leonidio and worth the winding road through really beautiful and unspoilt country. The monastery is easily accessible as you can drive very close and from the entrance to the chapel is only a few hundred metres and not too many stairs. The monastery is peaceful and unreal in a way - the views, well they make you think of the wonder of this world.

This is just beautiful and amazing that the little church is still standing with all the trees, and the little stream is just lovely. We got lost trying to get there, we knew where we wanted to be but couldn't find the right road, but got there in the end and went to the first taverna that we came across. They didnt have any English menus so we had to go into the kitchen and point to chicken done in a tomato sauce and chips which were very good. If we had gone down the steps to the mill by the stream we would have found another taverna. It was a very good day.

One of the interesting monestaries along the Menalon walking trail. This beautiful monastery clung on to the side of the mountain was just stunning. All visitors are welcomed and there is a common room where there are plates of lovely biscuits and greek delights. Then you can also help yourself to greek coffee. Such a wonderful surprise. It is so peaceful, just sitting there and looking at the steep gully around the building.

We walked up, down and up again from a site called Ancient Gortys to this nice Monastery. Traveling by car was difficult, said some German tourists. The walk - along part of the Menalon Trail - is one of the best we did. The views are fine and - also fine - much of the walk is under cover of trees. Watch out for the missing planks in the foot Bridges.

Very organized area for vacations full of very good cafe and sunbeds for about 4 km a fine place for families that dont want to use car.

Discovering this family winery in Kapsia, Arcadia (close to the Manineia wine-producing region), was a nice surprise. Located in the beautiful village of Kapsia, renovated with a nice taste and personal work by the owners, the winery is open to the visitors for a free tour and degustation. The Kalogri family gave us the opportunity to taste not only all their excellent organic wines (4 main etiquettes), but also Greek pie and local chestnuts. The winery is renovated in a traditional style, and the areas/rooms inside have beautiful decorations. You feel that the visit to this winery is not only a degustation experience, but also an invitation to travel in history and art. My rating is not perfect not only because there is always room for improvement but because I do believe that the winery-tour could be upgraded to an even more enjoyable, comprehensive and informative experience (without extra costs for the winery owners). I mean that, besides the cellar and the final product, it is exciting for the visitor (who is a real wine-lover) to see the whole wine-making chain in the winery, e.g the storage areas, the fermentation and the vinification tanks, the laboratory (if there is one), and, in this way, to "feel" the wine-making procedure and chain of procedures.
Overall a great experience, and hopefully more wineries in Mantineia will follow Ktima Kalogri's example.

Nice beach with clean bleu waters ,easy reaching . You can park your car at the side of road .There are cafes infront the sea for coffee and snacks. Also nice local restaurants. Places for shower and changing are available

There are no signs for the monastery, just follow the signs for the Archeological site of Antient Mantineia. It's right opposite. The architecture is very interesting and worth a stop on you way to or from Kapsia caves or the Menalo ski resort. Kapsia village is just a 10 minutes drive away.
