5 star experience from start to finish! Amazing day and tour visiting the highlights of Cilento: History , Culuture and the food. He is a master of all three and provides a wonderful, knowledgeable experience at every stop. Nicola is passionate about his culture and this undiscovered beautiful part of Italy. A fortification built on a triangular plan with three circular towers and a moat affording spectacular panoramic views over the Thyrrenean Sea and towards the Amalfi/Salerno coastline. The entrance is free and there's ample opportunity to travel back into time and to visit and explore the internal parts of the castle. At the time of the visit there was a photographic exhibition.

This temple is an excellent example of Ancient Greek architecture in Italy. Built around 500 B.C. show us the tecnique of local architect. Is well maintained and his the masterpiece of Doric Style Architecture. Originally the name of the city was "Posidonia", from Poseidon God of the sea, and the roman conqueror changes the name in Paestum. His front so high and complete is a "unicum" for the visitors, witk lovely position, well surrounded by the nature and the background of the sky allow us to enjoy lights change of the colomum and block of marble.. No one must forget that The Paestum Temple is a complulsory visit.

The famous staircases that connect the small town of Agopoli and lead up to the medieval village. Crowded with people, going up these stairs during the evening hours you can breathe a different atmosphere, I love this spot, going up from here you can see the fantastic view of the harbor of Agropoli, a thrilling spectacle, then if you get the chance to be there during the sunset is even more distinctive.

It is nice to walk aorund, to have a look at all the different boats moored there. However, if you bring you towel and a swim suit, you can also have a bath on the rocks on the far end side.

Not much is left of the Amphitheater and only about a half of it is excavated. Judging by the remaining passageway the building had to be some 30-40 feet high.
Some photographs posted here depict not the Amphitheater but another structure situated nearby. The pictures showing concentric circular rows of seats is the ekklesiasterion, the Greek council meeting place.
