Then, you will take a short walk from Chuck's Tubes to the "The River" which is the shortest navigable river in the state of Texas, grad a tube (with or without a bottom). Relax on the spring feed river then climb aboard a TXT Shuttle Bus and head back to Chuck's. Drivers and staff have only one goal in mind, and that is you. Love going here. Cool little market that has all kinds of stuff. From food to crafts to clothes. From fresh veggies to food you can eat there or take home to heat up. They have crafts like pottery and glassware. Also clothes. Nice atmosphere and convenient location downtown New Braunfels.

Landa Park is located in New Braunfels, on the edge of the Texas Hill Country. The crystal clear Comal River runs through the 51-acre Park, and is home to many types of water fowl, including ducks and geese. Shaded by ancient live oak trees, Landa Park features walking paths, a golf course, a putt-putt course and a miniature train that will thrill any child. You will likely see deer hanging about the park, but please don’t feed them or the water fowl. It is against the local laws. Landa Park also features an arboretum, with lovely trees and plants coloring the site. You can walk, jog, splash in the wading pool, ride the train or just visit with friends. Dogs are welcome, on leash.

An unexpected delight on my morning run through New Braunfels on New Years day there were quite a few people doing some lazy laps in the river and I'd imagine during the summer, indeed you can see all the tubing infrastructure that this place really comes to life. But even in the winter, the walk alongside the river is a delight - the river path is currently blocked going into town where it would pass under a bridge that's being reconstructed. It's also connected into Landa Park if you look on the map which is also really great to visit.

There is lot to see in Gruene. I really enjoyed sampling peanut butter and salsas. Also the outdoor waiting at the grist mill restaurant was enjoyable because of beautiful scenery, nice music and friendly people. I will definitely be visiting again.

On our journey through Gruene we stopped in here and I purchased an armadillo sink strainer plus two Texas themed children’s books. Store is loaded with gift items. Inside is very cute plus they have a Penny smasher!!

Worth the stop. Great place to take pictures of the bridge and of the river. Free parking near the bridge also. This bridge is closed to traffic, pedestrian or bicycle only. There is also a really neat closed denim factory by it. Neat bit of history for bridge and building.
