Halls Gap swimming Pool

Reviewed By Davoxx - Geelong & Bellarine, Australia

Took the Grandkids to Halls Gap over summer, all they wanted to do was visit the pool! Very glad we did. So many activities for the kids (big kids too!)... wading pool, fountain, splash pool, floats to lie on and swim accessories to play with, made for a great afternoon of fun. All pools should be like this one.

Our family played a round of mini golf here and loved everything about it. It felt secluded with all the surrounding gardens, was creative and sometimes a little challenging. The kids (8 & 10), really enjoyed themselves, as did the adults. The entry price was reasonable, and considering the course took 5 of us around 1.5 hours, it was value for money.

I had low expectations for what a zoo could offer in the grampians, however it was such an impressive zoo. There was such a range of animals, from pigs, monkeys, kangaroos, and giraffes. There is a map, which guides you through the zoo to ensure you see every animal. There is animal food sold at the entrance, so you are even able to feed free roaming deer, kangaroos and wallabies. I particularly liked the guineapigs, as there were so many of them, and lots of little babies.

This Lookout had a great view, and it next to the carpark, there is another lookout within a short walking distance from this one. It can get busy during peak times. But the views are worthwhile to look at.

Fish Falls

Reviewed By felicityc60 - Adelaide, Australia

The walk from the Zumsteins Picnic Ground to Fish Falls, in the beautiful Wartook Valley, is a delightful nature walk that follows the creek to the falls. A medium level of fitness is required, as there are some uneven sections and rocky ground in places. As well as beautiful fresh air and the sounds of birds, views of the creek break up the walk along the way. Fish Falls are accessible from 3 levels linked by sturdy metal stairs. From the top level you can rock hop over a few large boulders to access the track which continues on to the base of Mackenzie Falls. This is an easier option to get to the base of Mackenzie Falls (rather than the steep climb down and up from the Mackenzie Falls car park). All up the walk is about 7 km return, well worth the effort to enjoy the beautiful scenery and be immersed in the sights, smells and sounds of nature. Take a back pack and break the walk up with stops for lunch and snacks and you will have an enjoyable morning/afternoon outing.

This is part of a most enjoyable, fairly short walk with the reward of great views from the top. Well worth the effort.
