Art of Silk Museum

In the Art of Silk Museum you will be guided through the exhibits in the carefully restored neoclassical building. The exhibits are in working order and the visitor will be able to get a taste of what it meant to work in the silk industry from silk reeling and processing machines to weaving with both hand and power looms. Alongside the exhibits there are videos demonstrating the various stages in the manufacture of silk from sericulture (the rearing of silkworms) to the finished product. The aim of the Art of Silk Museum is to highlight and preserve the rich tradition of silk weaving and production in the area. Original exhibits combined with the latest technology take the visitor, step by step, on a journey as unique as silk itself.

Georgiadis Accessories & Souvenirs

Reviewed By ctsounis - New York City, United States

We stopped at the picturesque waterfront. A young businessman, Mr. Georgiadis, was passing out fliers. I was totally disappointed with the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul. The prices were very high and products average quality. The Alexandroupolis’ energetic businessman had a vibrant air about him. I went in his shop and came across postcards that looked like oil paintings. I have never seen postcards that appeared as oil paintings. His t-shirts were good quality with all sizes. I bought some costume jewelry and cups. Mr. Georgiadis’ inventory was the best.

Agia Paraskevi Beach

Reviewed By TamerH - Bolu, Turkey

This was one of the best beaches I have ever seen. Very clean and clear water, lots of available taverns and bars, sufficient parking places; everything suited to our taste during the day-trip. It may even be a perfect choice for a prolonged vacation.
