The temple is situated approximately 15 km from Coimbatore town and we have bus services from Gandhipuram till the temple foothills, from there you can either take steps or take bus (if unable to walk steps) to reach the temple. On the walkway there is a peacock statue , which depicts the vahanam (vehicle) of lord Murugan, throught the walkway you can see many good sculptures, a Ganesha temple, a banayan tree temple and swami temple. Top the hill there are two major temples (aadi mulashathanam and mulashathanam ) and one Guha (cave). The first temple were load Murugan is shrine is with his two wife, behind this temple there is a stair which will lead you to a Guha, know to be Guha of Shri pambadi sitar/ sidar it is believed that the sitar would be visiting the diety in the form of snake. Beside the temple there is panchavriksha (five trees with one root). God Ganesha idol with five face is workshiped there , depicting pacha vriksha, then the main temple were god Murugan is in the form of Subramanian. Preferably visit during the evening before 1800 hrs so that you can witness the rathavatra at the temple. The Dhyanalinga is set amidst the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains, the first of its kind to be completed in over 2000 years. This powerful meditative space does not ascribe to any particular faith or belief system nor does it require any ritual, prayer, or worship. In June 1999, Dhyanalinga was consecrated by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a realized master, mystic and yogi, after three years of intense process of prana prathista (process of energizing an object using one's own life energies). Measuring 13' 9", Dhyanalinga is the largest mercury-based live linga in the world. All the aspects of life are enshrined in the form of seven chakras, energized to the very peak and locked to prevent dissipation over time. It is expected that the energies of the Dhyanalinga will not suffer dissipation for at least 5000 years. THEERTAKUNDS The Dhyanalinga features two Theerthakunds, which are subterranean tanks with solidified mercury lingas immersed in water, built as preparatory tools to enhance one's spiritual receptivity before entering the Dhyanalinga. The offering takes place twice a day, from 11:50 am to 12:10 pm and from 5:50 pm to 6:10 pm. These times are recognized as special sandhya kalas for meditators. A sandhya kala is a phase when nature undergoes certain transitions and makes a person more receptive to inner possibilities. AUMKAR MEDITATION Visitors to the Dhyanalinga can further deepen their experience by attending this daily introduction to the timeless and powerful mantra "Aum." This meditation is known to have transcendental qualities. It can bring peace and balance to one's system, and is known to relieve people from numerous physical and mental ailments when practiced regularly. Aumkar meditation is offered daily from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.

Mother Masaniamman is the diety here in sleeping form. The diety is huge, so is the temple complex. I was amazed that so many people visit. The small town is about 45kms from coimbatore. It is told that whatever we wish has to be written in a sheet of paper that will be placed on the palm of the mother. The wish would come true is the belief. Also, another custom and belief being grinding red chillies and applying the same to another stone representing the mother. This custom is symbolic that the mother happily takes all the trouble and bitterness (represented by red chillies) on to her. Such is the affection towards her children. Do visit and take blessings of the mother.
