10 Things to do Good for Kids in Caracas That You Shouldn't Miss

January 21, 2022 Emerita Lamoureux

Santiago de Leon de Caracas, Venezuela's capital, sits in Cerro Avila Valley, where mountain ranges soar 8000 feet from the Caribbean. Once inhabited by Toromaimo Indians, the city was founded by the Spanish in 1567. Chacao is the see-and-be-seen place to eat, drink and socialize, but restaurant destination Las Mercedes is one of the few places safe to walk around. Iglesia de San Francisco is a beautiful example of colonial architecture. Mountainous Parque Nacional El Avila teems with tempting trails.

The most idyllic hike I’ve been on in a city. It is a tough one, but he views at the end, city one side and ocean the other, and the gorgeous shacks selling blackberry wine (vino de mora) make this the most spectacular location in all of Caracas, and you can let your worries float away just for a while. UNMISSABLE!

It is a great place to visit on weekends, sitting in the former facilities of a coffee plantation, it offers places to eat, read, sip a hot chocolate, or get some cocoa (enter in the chocolate store and having a chocolate is a great experience just for the aroma), in Al Fresco try the chicken curry, and the quinoa salad with raisins... and then you can sit in the finely cared grass looking towards the old house and spend the rest of the afternoon there
