10 Things to do Good for Couples in Lahaina That You Shouldn't Miss

May 8, 2022 Viva Honore

Lahaina, the former Hawaiian capital, was the center of the global whaling trade, and its Historic District is a National Historic Landmark. Traditional Hawaiian luaus, surf lessons and tours on horseback are fun, but let’s be realistic—you wouldn’t be in Hawaii if you didn’t want to go to the beach. Try Ka’anapali Beach, one of Maui’s best.

We make it to this lovely church at least once during our annual visit to Kaanapali. It's welcoming, comfortable and inspiring. The Tongan choir is great.

We were fortunate to have a priest visiting from Oahu that gave a very enjoyable homily with stories, parables, and humor. At the 5:30 p.m. mass, we heard a terrific choir who even sang the psalm verses in harmony as well as Hawaiian language in some songs. I counted about 10 singers. They sang a cappella with a conductor in front. They sang with such bravado and forte volume that you would think that there were 30 singers. No AC so dress accordingly.

Wow! We happened to walk by Maui on Metal, just by chance and were incredibly impressed by the photos and staff there. Kayanna was really knowledgeable and went out of her way to present us with options for the piece that we had chosen. We selected “Pele’s Night” which is absolutely amazing — it has both lava AND the Milky Way all in a single photo. COVID has been really tough on local businesses and we’re happy to know that this business is going to be able to continue to operate, and also glad that we could support them by purchasing a piece. If you are in Maui, this is definitely worth a visit — even if you don’t take a piece home, you’ll have an opportunity to view the beauty of the photos on display!

I discovered the Daryl Millard Gallery and Daryl works back in Canada on his website while reminiscing about my last try trip to Maui. His artwork and talent is out of this world my friend and I got goosebumps looking at his exceptional paintings. You are transported back to the beach and you smell and hear the tiki torches hiss you feel the trade winds and feel the rhythmic ocean waves lap at your feet.I can’t rave enough!! I’m a new collector and huge fan.Ive purchased 2 paintings one for myself and one for my Mom’s birthday she cried when she recognized the box from the gallery even before he saw her artwork,That Daryl kindly dedicated in Hawaiian for her. That night we kept going back in her bedroom Looking at her new artwork watching the fading daylight change and really compliment the sunset on her new painting it was magical as our sun was setting the setting sun in her beach scene shimmered more and more on the ocean her artwork was alive. Its not just Daryls talent but his energy that breathes life into his canvases.I vow to get back to Maui and stop number one,two and three will be to The Daryl Millard gallery.Vanessa was a delight and a breath of fresh air to speak and visit with I felt like I was talking to an old friend both purchases she’s helped with and made the transactions Effortless and gave me the confidence with such difficult decisions of what was to come home. Not to mention the exceptional frames that Daryl makes to choose from Can’t wait to meet her in person and to walk through Daryls Gallery. The essence of old Hawaii jumps out at you the colours textures and scenes awe and inspires your heart to say “REMEMBER?” And my soul said “I AM BACK “. Located in Lahaina this coconut farm tour was an awesome way to learn about the life of a coconut and explore more of Maui. Our experience started with fresh coconut milk cold brew coffees and from there we walked the farm and eventually settled in to learn more about coconut life stages. Our guide, Kai, cracked open juvenile coconuts so we could drink fresh coconut water and enjoy the coconut meat before moving on to mature coconuts, highlighting the differences between the two. We learned the process of making coconut milk and also tried mature coconut meat. We had the chance to walk the grounds and were able to enjoy all the coconuts our hearts (and stomachs) desired. They did a wonderful job of following safety protocols with Covid and the small group tour made it intimate and amazing! They also have a very cute gift shop and once the café fully opens will be the perfect spot to enjoy fresh coconut themed snacks and beverages among sweeping views of the ocean and the iconic coconut palms. If you are considering an awesome local experience on the island book this tour ASAP! We can't wait to take our friends.

Husband and I spent more than an hour in this gallery and would have spent even more time if we could. The art is amazing and I wanted to take home at least 4 pieces and I don't even have a home with an island themed room. Not only are the paintings terrific, so is the pottery and jewelry. This is a very special place, the real deal.
