10 Things to do Good for Couples in Kennebunkport That You Shouldn't Miss

September 10, 2021 Yuk Petri

It took George H.W. Bush to make Kennebunkport known to most of the country, but New Englanders have enjoyed this quiet coastal Maine town for years. In hot weather, beaches are a major draw, but Kennebunkport's many small boutiques, art galleries and restaurants make a visit fun at any time of year. Inveterate shoppers may want to combine a visit to Kennebunkport with a trip to nearby Kittery, where dozens of outlets and factory stores offer plenty of bargains.

Rugosa Lobster Tours

This is a demonstration of lobster fishing and information about lobster biology, Maine lobster fisheries, commercial aspects of the fishery and last but not least, some local history. Fun for the whole family. The Rugosa is a real wooden lobster boat out on the Gulf of Maine and in terms of information shared by the tour guide, children must be at least 6 years. Very young children can be a distraction to the rest of the guests aboard the boat, enjoying the presentation. THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 CRISIS, WE WILL BE TAKING ONLY 10 PEOPLE PER TRIP FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING AND WILL USE ALL PRECAUTIONS TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE.

Quiet and family-oriented Maine beach.

Goose Rocks Beach is undoubtedly one of the nicest beaches in the Northeast. It is truly a family beach with soft sand and a protected shore that allows small children to play in the water without massive waves. The water temperature is not as low as you might think - it's very enjoyable and refreshing, even for grandparents! Sand Dollar Real Estate is the place to go to find convenient rental properties. They are amazingly helpful and have a large stock of vacation properties (of every kind and description). Check out their webisite.

Parson's Way

Located off Ocean Avenue, this popular walking path winds along Kennebunkport's rugged and scenic coastline.

Reviewed By beths1030 - Dracut, United States

Ok so I was a bit confused about Parsons Way and Ocean Ave. I realized that Parsons Way is Ocean Ave. It's a part of the coastline that a man donated to Kennebunkport. It's not a separate trail. It is a must do walk. I recommend walking since the road has cars on it and it's pretty narrow meaning bikes often are right up to the sidewalk. Also on foot you can really enjoy the coastline, St. Ann's church, the gorgeous houses finally ending at Walkers point. It only took us about an hour to walk up and back to Colony beach (also on Ocean Ave)
