The Budda is worth the walk. Other attractions there make it a must see.the Temple has a play that tells a very cool story. The opening flower with the Baby Budda starts a little slow but well with the wait.

A local from Wuxi gave the tour, and was very proud of her city and the location. This was considered a small city, 3+ million people, but that is considered small by China city standards. There is a nice lake at the city park with nice walking paths.

Taihu Yuantouzhu Scenic

Reviewed By jameshuang - Taipei, Taiwan

Turtle-Head Park (黿頭渚, also called as Yuantouzhu) is a peninsula located in the northwest shore of the Taihu Lake (太湖) of Wuxi, Jiangsu, China. Yuantouzhu got its name because the peninsula looks like a turtle resting its head into the lake. It is the most popular scenic spot in Taihu Lake. Yuantouzhu Scenic Area is listed as a National 5-A Tourist Attraction. The 500 ha (1,236 acre) area was established in 1916 by the celebrities, officials and rich-men who built private garden and villas. Yuantouzhu Scenic Area just celebrated its anniversary last year. Lake Taihu (太湖, also called Lake Tai) is the third largest freshwater lake in China. The 222,500 Ha (555,987 acre) lake has an average depth of 2 m (6.6 ft) and about 90 islands. We arrived in the morning around 11 am and purchased the tickets at the ticket booth. We spent some time in the nearby Shuijingyuan (水景苑) taking photos of the few lotus flowers left. We visited in late September, and the peak season of the lotus flowers had just passed. We could also see the Shu Tian Court (舒天閣) on the highest point of the park - Luding Hill (鹿頂) from Chongshan entrance (充山大門). We took the sightseeing tram that brought us to our first stop – the Luding Hill where we climbed up to the top of the Shu Tian Court and enjoyed a panoramic view of the surroundings and the Wuxi city center. The next stop was the main destination - the heart of Turtle-Head Park. The tram dropped us at the gate to the highlight of the park. We followed the path to the lake shore and saw an antique wooden ship that mimics an ancient freight at the dock. We followed the trail and went to a lotus pond where the famous and beautiful Ever-Spring Bridge (長春橋) is located. When we reached the lighthouse area, I could see several antique wooden boats sitting atop the serene waters of Taihu Lake. It made us felt like we traveled back several decades. From here, we saw the tip of peninsula which was the so-called turtle head. For centuries, tourists, poets and painters have visited Yuantouzhu and made it a well known and must see destination when you visit Taihu Lake. The best and beautiful time to visit Turtle-Head Park is when the cherry trees bloom during March & April. The site has more than 10 attractions, and you should spend a full day here in order to see most of them.

Nanchan Temple of Wuxi

Reviewed By celticjames33 - Qingdao, China

Nanchan Temple was wonderful. The first thing that will tickle your senses about the place will be the intricacies, colors and shapes of the temple architecture. Its like each panel has been meticulously placed designed to suit. The Buddhist relics inside the temples are awesome. They come in different shapes, sizes and colors and all are worth the veneration given to them. Coming out from the worship halls, there is all manner of things to do - you can watch auctions, you can do a little shopping, you can get many photo requests like me, and you can even eat Halal food ! But one of the Rea highlights is going for a cruise along the canal. You can see so many little bars, and restaurants along the way as you go down the canal in the boat. Its very relaxing and can be enjoyed by all. Nanchan Temple is a definite must see.

Qingming Bridge is certainly a very scenic stop along Nanchangjie / Nanchang Walking Street - Downtown Wuxi. The walk from the Gate, starting at Starbucks, is filled with interesting Sights and Smells - Food and Drinks Galore. After passing the first Bridge, at Mr. OK's Bar, the Walk becomes a little more 'Cultural' - with lots of Bookstores and Teashops. it culminates with the amazing sight of this curved Bridge, where one can choose to cross to the other side of the Canal, to explore the alleyways with all its curiosities.

On a clear blue sky winter morning we visited San’guo city. She rented a charming chinese costume for RMB100, will full make up and hair and entered the San’guo “universal studios”. What happened was a splendid experience.... We roamed the park, enjoyed many brilliant sets and acted as princess and idiot throughout! We rented the motorized buggy for RMB100 and rode around like 50 year old kids that don’t wanna grow up. There also a universal studios style horse riding stunt show that was free! Complete experience with the sound, fire, smells of horse dung. We only wished they had a themed old school chinese wine restaurant would have completed the experience. Otherwise it is An extremely memorable experience!

Beautiful little old town with some really great architectures. Takes you back in time and showcases some of the beautiful houses and gardens constructed during the Ming and Ching period. Go in the morning and enjoy a nice cup of hot tea by the canal with the locals.
