10 Things to do Good for Big Groups in Walla Walla That You Shouldn't Miss

May 4, 2022 Layne Dawes

Wineries are beginning to rival the sweet-tasting Walla Walla onion as the hallmark of this lovely town at the foot of the Blue Mountains. In fact, the combination of excellent wineries and appealing scenery has put Walla Walla on the map as one of the country's hottest new wine-touring regions. The town's rich history, starting with the Indian tribes who first settled here followed by the early pioneers, the establishment and subsequent tragic demise of a famous mission and then a gold rush, is also a tourist draw. Fascinating museums and historic attractions bring this past to life. Music and the arts are a vital part of this culturally conscious college town, which boasts one of the oldest symphony orchestras west of the Mississippi, frequent summertime blues and jazz concerts, arts festivals and at least 15 art galleries. A revitalized downtown features restored 19th-century buildings, restaurants, galleries and wine-tasting rooms. If you're itching for outdoor fun, head east for hiking, mountain biking and fishing in the Blue Mountains or take the relatively easy Stateline Loop bike trail to Oregon and back.

We wanted to experience the best of Walla Walla wineries so naturally it has to be in a stretch limo. From the initial booking with the office to meeting Ryan our driver was excellent We were recommended to order picnic food from Graze - (see separate review) - which was great We started our tour at eternal wines with the lovely kate, here we loved the Rose, from there we headed to Zerba wines for something a little different and enjoyed our lunch - our favorite was the Malbec Next stop was the lovely people at Northstar - here it had to be the Syrah Next stop was the home of Justin who ran Soleman wines - our favorite was the 100% Cab Sav Our last stop was the new Spanish winery - wow what a building Through out the day Ryan was amazing and to end a great day he dropped us off for something to eat in downtown- what a driver Can not give this enough of a great review

The Touring Company

Hi, I'm Ali. My husband & I offer personalized wine tours of Walla Walla in either of our two Mercedes-Benz vans. We own the business and we're the drivers/tour guides as well (no employees). Before starting a tour business, our family owned a small winery where my husband Ryan made wine and I ran the tasting room. So we've seen it all. ;-) Join us for a private Walla Walla wine tour starting at $99/hour. Or meet others on a mixed group 5-hour "Enthusiast" wine tour, which includes lunch, for $155/person. All tours include pickup and drop off anywhere in Walla Walla, plus complimentary bottled water and concierge service (by Ali) to arrange your itinerary and tasting appointments. Between the two of us, we have over 20 years of experience in the local wine industry, and will create a one-of-a-kind tour that you won't find anywhere else. Meet a winemaker? Check. Best picnic spot in the Valley? Check. Newest winery that no one knows about yet? Check!

Three Rivers Winery

Tour the barrel rooms and cellar of this lovely winery with stunning views of surrounding vineyards, Mill Creek and the distant Blue Mountains, and try your hand at three short holes of golf.

A friend recommended that we include this in our tasting selections during our weekend in Walla Walla Washington. I called ahead and was greeted by an incredibly pleasant gentleman (I believe Stacey). Upon arrival, Trevor took great care of us- educating us (as novice wine tasters) about the wines and sampling a great variety of reds and whites. I am generally not a fan of whites but their selection was quite good and I walked away with a purchase of the best Riesling I have had- not too sweet and not to dry. Of the wineries we visited, we felt the overall taste and value of their wines was one of the best, better than Northstar that we visited earlier in the day. It’s set in a lovely country setting. Thank you, Trevor, for taking great care of us. You rock!
