10 Things to do Good for Big Groups in Tenerife That You Shouldn't Miss

Tribal Terenife still shows influence from the aboriginal Gaunches people. Visitors clamber to conquer Mount Teide (Spain’s tallest peak) and to stretch out on the sands of Los Gigantes. Squawk hello to the playful parrots of Loro Park, or brave the petrifying drive to beautiful Masca Valley. For a true taste of Terenife, sample fresh farmhouse cheese and local bananas. A piece of delicate calado canario lace makes a special souvenir.

Cueva del Viento

The longest lavatunnel i all of Europe, with more than 18 km now explored. A vulcanic tunnel that now has caused scientific interest, because of the cocroach born without eyes. An absoultely amazing experience to get a guided tour into this underground vulcanic world. Highly recommended for those who want to experience something different in this beautiful island.

You have to prebook your place on this trip prior to going, they only allow 16 people a time into the cave. The tour was fantastic and very well organised, our tour guide was very knowledgable, we had two young children in our group and he made it fun and interesting for them as well the adults. There is a short 20 minute walk to the cave through beautiful woodland, not too strenuous. I would highly recommend.

I took the bus from La Laguna to the visitor centre, they were very helpful there, suggesting a walk that fitted my requirements and providing a map. I walked the 5 km on my own and it was wonderful, so peaceful with just the bird song for company. Beautiful views near the visitor centre, not very obvious where to go to see but if you cross the road (from the centre) and walk to the left of the restaurant, behind it there are steps, or a ramp, which lead you up to an amazing view. Also there is a cafe near the centre which was very good.

Passing by Finca Canarias we were attracted by its ecological plantation so that the day after we stopped by. Despite covid, it was open and still offering visits to (the few) visitors. Elisa immediately welcomed us and led us to a super interesting visit through the outside aloe vera fields, explaning all the details about aloe cultivation as well as other typical plants and flowers of Tenerife. She also showed us a beautiful greenhouse replicating the diversity of plants growing in Tenerife, including ananas plants (never seen before!), banana plants and many others. We then assisted to the process of extracting the juice from aloe vera leaves and and we tried it directly on our skin!! We learnt so many interesting aspects about this extraordinary plant and its plantation! They also have a super well furnished shop where they sell their orgànic products. I find them just great, so their quality is totally worth the price! Also, thanks to our purchase, we had two products as gifts - which was much appreciated :) Elisa really took the time to explain the details of every product we asked her about and guided us with much care. Even if there were 2 other customers she made sure she was done with us before moving on to them. Besides, she is really nice and friendly! Overall, better not to leave Tenerife without having stopped by!

We went on a transfer from Playa de las Americas, which doesn't take as long as they say! Fantastic park with so much to see! Highly recommend the tour that they offer you when you go in as you get to see everything behind the scenes as well such as the vets, penguins and go underneath the orca whale tank to see them! They tell you everything about the place as well and will help you to find out which order to do the shows in! Whale and dolphin shows are a must!! Food is above average but fine for snacks and drinks!

Costa Martianez

The Costa Martianez Tourist Complex, also known as Lago Martianez, is a leisure and entertainment zone comprising seven artificial seawater swimming pools and a large lake, as well as gardens, terraces, islands, viewpoints, solaria, cultural spaces, bars and restaurants. It currently constitutes the symbol and main tourist attraction of Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, the most traditional and prestigious tourist city on the Canary Islands. The Costa Martianez Complex is the pride of Puerto de la Cruz and all of Tenerife. The quality and beauty of its facilities provide the visitor with the most suitable environment for bathing and relaxing and, thanks to the Canary Islands’ privileged climate, can be enjoyed at any time of the year.

With it's simply stunning main lake and several smaller pools, what Puerto de la Cruz lacks in beaches Costa Martianez certainly makes up for! It's perfectly manicured and well kept with plenty of sunbeds and places to grab a snack and a drink and at 5.50 euros entrance it's excellent value. As others have said, you can pop in and out as much as you want during the day as long as you hang on to your ticket but we were sucked into the tranquillity and spent the whole day here.

Beautiful village set in a spectacular gorge. Amazing drive- yes it is a bit hairy but roads are good- through the mountains with good viewing spots on the way. The gorge walk is closed at present but just to walk around Masca village was enough for us! Its very hilly but so relaxing and quiet. Excellent place to visit.
