You can get to this beach by boat (average R$ 10 per person) or walking(this option you will need to enter Pontal do Atalaia by taxi or R$ 20 per car). It can be really crowded, you better arrive early and avoid weekends. Tje san is brigjt white and the sea is really blue. The water is very cold though. ( in Arraial do Cabo all of the beaches have a really cold water). This is the beach where there is a famous stair that evertbody takes some pictures. Please follow us on instagram: @mapamunditravel

This was my favourite beach in Arraial do Cabo.You can only get to this beach by boat (average R$ 10 per person). It can get crowded so, you better arrive early and avoid weekends. There are no restaurants or sellers and you also cant bring food. Thensand is bright white and the sea is really blue. You have an amazing voew of fhe mountains , what make the landscape even more beautifil.The water is very cold though. Like most special places in the World, you pay dues to get there. If it is too easy it is ruined by overcrowding and inconsiderate people. The big issue here is the last 5 kilometers of the "road" to Paraty Mirim. Heavily washboarded and lots of mud. We made it in a rental car but if was rainy would be very easy to get stuck in the shin deep mud. 4X4 better, with higher ground clearance but lots do it in regular cars. Parking 20R for the day. The boatman would not go lower than 250R return despite dozens of boats and not so many customers. We are FIT travellers and refuse to go on tours with groups. This was true even before the Wuhan plague but all the more critical now. We did see the small bus so you can do it the cheap way for less than the cost of parking. The main beach was soso and crowded. You must hire boat to get to the world class beaches in the Saco (fjord) of Mamangua itself. The drive first suggested taking us to a beach with a restaurant which we declined. We bring our own cooler with food and deinks and asked for the best beach (which means undeveloped). Euginho Beach did not disappoint. Freshwater stream emerging from pile of rounbded rocks which meets the sea and very pristine sand , HUGE shade tree and restroom are only "facilities". and reef.

Myself and my wife visited the the place and we were so pleased with the owners, their care for the place (and region) and for this piece of aviation and literature history that seems to be fading each day. We had so great discussions about the writer, aspects of our local history and so much more that time just flew pleasantly and made us want to come back again. It’s really worth it to visit and discover that part of our history and, especially, to share time with such wonderful hosts.

A different vantage point from the top of Corcovado with more land views than water views (or water seen past land), the top of this so-called 'Sugar Loaf' is actually kind of an "opposite nature" with more views of water than land from its two viewing areas (each of which kind of double-decked): one area facing north with a great wide view of Guanabara Bay & the "long bridge" at some distance straight ahead and from which there's also a view of a good-sized portion of the city (with a pretty nice skyline actually in a big sprawling area of modern high-rises) to the left & across the water with also some nice-looking beaches on that side; and another area facing south with the "open sea" & really quite a phenomenal view of the "entire length" of Copacabana Beach from the hill of Forte Duque de Caxias just shortly from this mountain to Forte de Copacabana on the other end about 3 km away (which is actually what to me was the "most worthwhile" view from this mountain top). I would just say a bit on the downside though is "not much" of ground to walk around up here, but yes there's Morro da Urca shortly below (just about a 5-minute cable car ride away which you have to come through to get up to this mountain top) which is "like a small park" for a nice walk around with also some old cable cars displayed outdoors, a small building with some cable car machinery on display, a small forest trail on a raised platform or such & yes the same views as from above (except for that of Copacabana to the south which cannot be seen from this "lower top") but actually kind of better I would say when it comes to some views such as that of the high-rises to the west across the water & that of the boats in the water also to the west (quite a number of those pleasure vessels to see actually!). And also, pretty nice for browsing and enjoying time up here (on the tops of both Sugarloaf & Morro da Urca) are some nice souvenir shops & restaurants & even a gemstone shop with beautiful sculptures of birds & such made of those stones (quite pricey ones though). And with no metro station close by, one way to not have to spend too much for taxi getting here is by taking the metro to Botafogo Station (both Lines 1 & 2) where you can take a cab outside for just a short ride of 5 to 10 minutes to the cable car station on the bottom of Morro da Urca where you start your "two-part" cable car ride (each just for about 5 minutes) first to the top of Morro da Urca then all the way up to the top of this mountain (which yes resembles a loaf of sugar but a "green one").

One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever been to. You can get a taxi boat out from Abroaa to Pousa ( 25 real) and from there it’s a 15 minute walk through the jungle to get here. White sandy beaches and crystal blue water will greet you on arrival! Be prepared it gets quite busy but you can walk much further down the beach to get a quiet spot. They also have lifeguards working. They don’t have any facilities on the beach so make sure you pack a picnic and some beers.

We had excellent tour to Paraty from Rio. Our tour guide/driver was Newton from C2Rio. The scenery on the drive is beautiful and Newton’s descriptions of the places and history were excellent. This is a great way to see the historical city of Paraty and area around Rio. This is a full day trip. Allow 5 hours travel each way and 4-5 hours in Paraty or stay in one of many available hotels.
