For the outdoors enthusiast, the Pocono Mountains have everything you need and desire. There are seven state parks in the region as well as one national park, the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Automobile racing fans love to visit the Pocono Raceway, which hosts several major races every year. Skiers and snowboarders gravitate to major resort areas like Camelback Ski Area, Jack Frost Mountain and Big Boulder and the Shawnee Mountain Ski area. We fell in love with Three Hammers the first time we went there. It is such a warm and welcoming location with great people and delicious wine. We live about 2.5 hours away but were planning a wedding at Woodloch which meant we were up in the area a lot. Every trip we made up to the area we made a point of stopping for a glass of wine and to restock with “a few” bottles of wine to hold us over till our next visit. The staff is always very friendly. The owners were always welcoming and very happy to show us around and share their story with us. We ended up falling in love with the property so much that we spoke to Rob and Christine (the owners) about having our first look for our wedding on their property and I am so happy we did. We could not have asked for a better backdrop for our first look. After we finished with our moment, Rob came over to say hi and congratulate us. After so much build up to that moment, I was so happy we were in a relaxing atmosphere and were able to enjoy a nice glass of wine.

Delaware Water Gap On our adventure, we were on our way to Dingman's Ferry when we saw this back road. We decided to take it and it went along by the river in the Gap. 20 miles of 15 miles an hour on a rural road. We found treasure upon treasure for picture taking. It was just us and nature. Couldnt have asked for a more perfect ending to our day

Another adventurous activity , green forest hike with beautiful fall .which is in state of Pennsylvania on Pocono mountain Uplands. It is Bushkill Falls opened for public in 1904 .A stream from Rocky Mountain turns in to 100 ft deep scenic water fall. Though it is named as Niagara of Pennsylvania. but it is not so u can not compare it with a large gorgeous Niagara fall. But it has its own beauty. A small river turning in to a big water fall covered by green deep forest and rocky hill/mountain. Four trails developed for hike trail lovers-Green trail (easy one) yellow trail ( for family with children) blue & red trail some what longer , runs from 1 hour to 2.30 hours and in forest, mountains , ups & downs. Systematically made, developed and maintained considering safety of hikers/ viewers. If you are exhausted after a hike then outside trail you have snacks & ice creams, fudge and funnel cakes to satisfy hike of your stomach????. Clean Rest rooms r there and large place for parking. Really exotic place to visit.

The Asa Packer Mansion Museum in Jim Thorpe, PA, is an amazing time capsule. The mansion was completed in 1861 by coal and railroad magnate Asa Packer. In 1912 it was donated to the borough by Packer's daughter with the stipulation that nothing be changed or taken out of the mansion. The woodworking, chandeliers, and household items are magnificent. The docent-guided tour was very informative. The orchestrion in the upstairs hallway was a rare treat.

If nothing else, go for the view- but stay for the tour. An absolutely beautiful place to visit and to reflect on what America would've been without Gifford Pinchot- a sad state indeed. We owe so much to this family of philanthropists and forward thinkers. I was blown away by what I learned simply because I had no idea this wealth of historical knowledge was in my backyard. Don't miss the finger bowl!!!

I visited Hickory Run State Park with my dog to check out some trails, beautiful views and discover what nature had to offer here. It was a day well spent. A lot of walking and the trails weren't difficult at all, very manageable for dogs. Supportive shoes came in handy nonetheless. Access to Boulder Field, Sand Spring Lake, Hickory Run Chapel and Shades of Death Trail are easily accessible and within very reasonable distance of each other. There is a bathroom at the parking lot to Boulder Field but use it as last resort. I was pretty grossed out. Overall, absolutely gorgeous park. We saw many people fishing. There are plenty of spots to tuck away off of the paths to stop and catch your breath, take in the scenery or enjoy a picnic. Lake Harmony is only 13 minute drive away if interested.

Mine tour was incredibly interesting! Our guide was the head of the organization that runs the mine and is himself a miner so we had a great tour. Especially interesting to hear about how practices have changed - or not - from the early days of the mine’s operation. The museum could use some content in the display cases to tell us about what we are looking at, but still interesting in its own right.

Absolutely an amazing place to visit, hands down!!! Wether it’s a family trip or a couple sneaking away for a few hours, quiet valley has something for everyone! The tours are entertaining, we learned a lot of interesting things about life in the poconos in the 1800’s; the bake oven and fresh bread is almost my favorite part (yes you get a sample ????). My kids loved to experience all of the animals and outdoor activities the farm offers, like the hay jump, wagon rides and a great gift shop! A perfect place to spend a day or just a few hours, 110% would recommend to any and everyone!

Seven tubs Nature area is the perfect destination for a hike in the woods. A hike on large rocks, across wooden bridges overlooking waterfalls. If you walk to the left and go to the top you can meander down all the tubs. In the summer, you slide down rocky slides in a beautiful stream with natural ‘tubs’ for swimming. You can spend 10 minutes or all day checking this out. If you are not from the area, the site will blow your mind. Be careful on the rocks and be prepared for steps and climbing. With the visit! Park rangers are available for questions- port-a-potties in parking lot. Enjoy nature!
