Batch Brewing Co.

I am a local, so not sure if I should be commenting on Trip Advisor, but I think both of the Batches are highlights, not only of the neighborhood but of Sydney in general. The beer is absolutely delicious and so far from the mass produced rubbish we put up with for so long in Australia that it is crazy. if you are fortunate to be there when MacBatch is on tap, just drink it. It is amazing, but make sure you aren't driving. However, on top of the amazing beer I would strongly recommend you hunt out Cree the Beer Whisperer. Not only is Cree just an amazing and interesting human being (talk to her about her ceramics business it is fascinating) she knows all of the beers inside out and has a seemingly preternatural ability to know what beer you will love. And I don't just mean like, you will love her recommendations. My favorite moment is when I walk in to get some take away, place my order, only to have Cree say "Nope, you are getting this", because I know that I am about to try a beer that I would never have tried but I am going to love. She has never missed. Cree has introduced me to beers such as Chocolate Raspberry stout, Choc Orange Porter - I hate fruit beer but they were gorgeous, Chapeau and Bock and that is just in the last couple of months. So I strongly recommend both Batches, but enhance your experience and find Cree for her recommendations and don't forget to tip her!!!!

Sauce Brewing Co

Craft beer microbrewery with onsite taproom for tastings and takeaways. In the heart of Sydney's Inner West - craft beer mecca.

A large and vast selection of beers on tap, friendly chatty staff, and tasting paddles are great if you're unsure of what to try. Probably has the best beer garden of all the Marrickville breweries, especially on a sunny day, although they have awnings up for when it rains. In my opinion, they have probably the best tasting IPAs in the area as well. Check out the Facebook page to see which food trucks are on site throughout the week, however you can pick up a few hot pies and cold pastries from Bourke Street Bakery as you're walking in and eat them inside.

Enmore Theatre

Reviewed By Hinanospider - Sydney, Australia

Best venue by far in the country. Great views due to old style sloping floor and acoustics are pretty good. A real ambiance to the place. Easy access and free street parking close by. Heaps of pubs and cafes around the area for a meal and a beer before your show. The staff are always really helpful, you don’t get that high security feel of some other venues although they carry out all the bag checks etc and they are pretty strict on any bad crowd behaviour. Just a great atmosphere with any gig I have been to here. Bring back the Young Henry’s Newtowner in cans for a perfect 10. Lack of decent beer is the only downside. Easy to access and exit after the show, never much queuing. Heaps better than the bigger Sydney venues - a much more intimate experience of seeing a band.

I was here on 28/1219 for The Barking Spiders concert. The merch stall was open from the start, great service at the bars, I was able to use the cloakroom facility to keep my merchandise shopping safe, for $3. The hall was able to accomodate the crowd easily and views of the band were good. Had a great night.

Dog friendly means there are literally dozens of dogs inside and out. Front bar is fairly standard inner West atmosphere, out back, the deck and laneway are fun. Dress down, chill out and bring your pooch. ????????????
