Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration Motherhouse

The nun who took us on a tour was very gracious. Not only did I receive a tour of the church, but was also shown a video. Then she also took us to see the archives which was phenomenal, and displayed the history of the church dating back many years. She talked about how there have been 2 people praying around the clock since the church opened, and how prayer requests can be submitted. Although this is not my denomination, I was impressed with the humility displayed and how much care the sisters here take to fulfill their mission. The stained glass is exceptional. This tour is best with no more than a small group.

Weber Center for the Performing Arts

I was unprepared for the quality of the production I saw at this theater. I expected small-town stuff. But the presentation was high caliber and well polished. I was unprepared for the small venue (we weren't in the large auditorium area). But the actors were well versed and rehearsed, so I was able to move (mentally) beyond the small performing area. The set itself was top notch and the whole play took place in this one room with out any changes of set, which was impressive in and of itself. Think of "audience in the round" except that it's a half circle, not a full circle. The audience was mostly older people, so I wonder if the price point is an issue for younger people who are not able to afford the theater? I was pretty convused by the 50/50, which wasn't explained until it was too late to participate. Basically, you pay to join a raffle and if you win, you get half of the money in the pot at that point. I wish someone had explained this - or maybe put the information in the brochure? I'll plan to participate next time I attend. The sold-out audience seemed to be a lot of people who knew each other. Is that because it's a small town or just because the same people attend all the time? Overall, an excellent night of talent and a wonderful way to spend an evening (especially if it's a cold winter night)!

We had a blast. There were 4 of us and although we probably needed 5 more minutes to solve it, the clues and setup were fantastic. Highly recomend it.

St. Rose Convent has an interesting history and a sister from the order gives a very informed and interesting tour of the property and chapel. It has many unique and unnusual facts related to its construction, a fire long ago, and the perpetual prayer that has continued everyday, 24 hours a day, for 140 years.
