Amazing. Binna (Brian) is the owner and resident artist of this fantastic little aboriginal art gallery. Enjoy, and maybe buy, some of his incredible artwork but even better get Binna to coach and mentor your inner artist and paint your own. Great experience, hosted by a very genuine and lovely guy. Highly recommended

Cape Trib Exotic Fruit Farm

We offer an Exotic Fruit Tasting and Orchard Tour every day at 2 pm. There is always ten different tropical fruit on the menu - fruit you have probably never heard of,with names like 'chocolate pudding fruit' and 'creme caramel fruit'.We show you how to prepare and eat the fruit, share interesting stories about the fruit from around the world, and then take you for a walk through the orchard which has more than 2000 fruit trees from the Amazon, Borneo and the Caribbean. This tour is not just a plate of fruit - it offers a special experience which cannot be found anywhere else and is great fun.

Shannonvale Tropical Fruit Winery

We make award winning wines from Tropical Fruit and no this does not mean they are sweet and sticky. They range from very dry wines to ports and they are all commercial standard. The wines are single-fruit wines, not blends. All the fruits we use have big flavours and we grow them in the organic way and in our own orchard. The flavours of the fruits are retained in the wine.

I took a detour to this unique tropical fruit winery on the way back to Cairns after a recent weekend in Mossman/Daintree. I wish I’d done it sooner. The setting is lush and secluded, the host was lovely & very attentive and the tropical fruit wines were sensational. They have won a lot of awards at wine festivals. I’ll be back and encourage others to support this niche local business. I bought a bottle of passion fruit wine as it was my favourite on the day but I could have picked any number of others.

Daintree Village Hotel

There are not too many places these days that can claim to be truly, "at the end of the road". Though the peaceful little village of the Daintree is undeniably one of them. Nestled on the banks of the majestic Daintree River and bordering the oldest living rainforest, Daintree Village makes up for its lack of size with heart, wonder and a spirit of adventure... and just a short drive north of Port Douglas, the Daintree Village Hotel is the perfect place to start your northern journey... The Daintree Village Hotel is a full bar and restaurant, with a general store, bottle shop, and tour booking office.

OK I admit to being a bit of a bug nerd. I love the variety and cleverness of members of the insect and arachnid world. Who would have thought that one of the worlds foremost beetle collectors would house his collection on Turpentine Road in Diwan? Almost the middle of nowhere. I guess he is well know among beetle collectors. Be warned: he does not have any spiders on display. So if you are looking to identify one that you saw in your hotel closet, you will not get an answer here. But if you want to see an amazing variety of beetles and moths, don't miss this stop.
