The Algarve's sunny shores offer perfect escapes for all types, from those seeking the hot nightlife of flashy, energetic Lagos to those desiring secluded stays in rambling Sagres. Portugal's most southerly region offers historical attractions in former Moorish capital Silves and fascinating Tavira, great golf, fabulous beaches from Praia da Luz to Armacao de Pera, thermal springs at Caldas de Monchique, and miles of limestone caves and grottoes, cliffs and bays along its rugged coastline.

Due to a cancellation of my holiday I sign in for a bootcamp with Marco and had an great, amazing and wonderful week. Marco is passionate and professional trainer and he pushed me to my limits (and over) and also took care of my very tight muscles. I loved that the training was different any time from running, boxing, swimming, various high intensity sessions at the beach and as icing on the cake; a (sand) bike ride on the beach to Faro, it was magic. The appartment I stayed in was very nice, with seavieuw and 2 minutes walk to te beach. The food was incredible and was one of the best I ever had and Erika is not only a great an passionate cook she is also great company and a lovely person. Marco and Erika are a great team which made this bootcamp very special. I Would recommend this bootcamp to anyone who wants to give your body and mind a great boost. I learned also new things; my abs had been neglected, no yogurt before training, how to loosen my (very) tight muscles (I bough a foam roller). The final results were great and Marco, thank you for your energy, trust and al your attention, it was what this week makes very special.

Great facility and teaching aids. Thoroughly enjoyed the short game "boot camp", Neil's teaching methods are simple and straightforward, and produce immediate results! Would have liked to have hit more balls during and after the session to help cement some of the immediate take aways though.

Lady in Red - Galeria de Arte

A huge and unused storage space in the region’s biggest winery - an authentic industrial place where the smells of wine hover around. Nearly everything was left untouched, even the rough dark old walls, while the integration of a perfect infrastructure for a modern art gallery with a gigantic light system went ahead. The result: 3.000 m² breathtaking contrast of space. Looking forward meeting you!

Going into the church it was very opulent and ornate and quite the contrast when you go out the back of the church to the Bone Chapel. The Bone Chapel was quite chilling to see, but definitely worth the look.

Set in a former sardine processing factory, the museum is divided into two areas. One half tells the history of Portimao from prehistory to modern times. The other half explains the processes involved in the sardine canning industry, using the actual equipment and location where it all happened. English captions throughout, and good use of video to make production stages clear. Also houses temporary display space, and good cafe/restaurant. Check out the joint ticket arrangements with other local historical sites, and note that there is free entrance on Sundays.

This is a very friendly wine tour in a lovely setting - the team are funny and very kind. It's not a huge tour, but that doesn't matter. They are very knowledgable and the wine is delicious - and you get cheese and hams too - wonderful. We had a lot of fun! Thank you!

Always make a point of visiting both the fish and vegetable markets in Olhão when on holiday. Totally fascinating places...especially the fish market...where every conceivable fish is on offer. Just wonderful to see all these gleaming fish and the number of people in to purchase. What choices they have. Everything is very clean and certainly worth a visit. Outside of both markets are traders selling fresh fruit, vegetables and other delights....including budgies and canaries. Definitely worth a visit.
