Yileena Park

Yileena Park is a family owned Cellar Door, Winery and Vineyard located in the beautiful Yarra Valley just one hour drive north east of Melbourne. The vinyard was established in 1998 and comprises 5 acres of Pinot Noir, 5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 2.5 acres of Merlot. It is situated on a north facing slope at the base of the Christmas Hills which keep it cool and protected. And the grey loam soil surfaced over a rock studded clay base make it ideal for growing premium wine grapes. The vineyard is pruned to produce between 1-2 tones of fruit per acre which allows the vines the opportunity to completely ripen the fruit. Our watering system is an American Sub-surface drip irrigation type, which delivers the water and organic liquid fertilizer directly to the vine’s roots. It allows for excellent control over our watering which we judiciously monitor. The unique sandstone cellar door at Yileena Park was opened in 2006. It is anchored back into a steep hill to ensure cool cellaring of our premium wines as the ground floor is virtually buried underground. Climb the superbly timber panelled stair case to the warmly inviting tasting room which is swathed in Tasmanian Myrtle and features and open fire place, an ornate Victorian mantle and a beautifully detailed granite bar. French doors open onto an expansive deck affording views over the vineyard and the beautiful Yarra Valley. The deck is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine with a pre-ordered cheese platter. When you visit Cellar Door you must also sample our unique smoked delicacies. These are infused with the smoke from old wine barrels and the combination of wine and oak flavours imparts an amazing flavour that needs to be tasted to be believed. Our smoked products are only available at Cellar Door and include smoked salt, olives, nuts, mustard, olive oil, red wine vinegar and cheeses. With such close proximity to Melbourne this stunning Celar Door, Winery and Vineyard is so accessible. We look forward to seeing you when you are next in the Yarra Valley.

Dropped in to see Bob for a quick chat, so we decided to order a meat and cheese platter for lunch as well as a wine tasting WOW the food arrived promptly and what a delicious feed, combined with a tasting of such high quality wines we were blown away. A fantastic way to while away a Saturday afternoon. We were that impressed with his boutique wines that we purchased a couple of bottles which we will enjoy very soon. Will definitely return Thanks Bob and Dianne

Monday, not always the favorite way to start a week unless you did what my best friend and I did and treated ourselves to an amazing Nourishment Rendezvous at PIAF SALON in Healesville. What a fantastic way to start our week with an amazing indulgent morning at Piaf. We felt like we had the entire beautiful rainforest/bush setting to ourselves, we even had the pleasure of the Lyre Birds outside our window! As we left the city behind and entered Coldstream and the mountainous views we started to slow down and relax from the busy Christmas season, we were even more amazed as we went further into the hills and enjoyed the fern trees and wildlife, ohhhhh... We were well impressed with the package we chose, we had a water lily facial with active botanicals for 1 hour, being in mind that we had just had an 1⁄2 hour heated spa in the treetops.. We then enjoyed a lotus hand treatment, followed by a lotus foot treatment, with an intensified eye treatment... which included a luxurious neck and shoulder rub followed by a hair and scalp massage.. How we ever got up I don’t know!! All in all a 3 and a half hour spoil. One thing I loved the most was that everywhere I looked both inside and out I was looking into the amazing tree life, the ferns, the trees, I just felt like I was lost in a scenic wonderland, although there were other guests we felt like we had the entire property to ourselves. The greeting we recieved and the beautiful therapists were absolutely wonderful, even a plastic bag to take our wet bathers home! Every detail was thought about, and oh yeh the best was still coming, after a morning of total indulgence one gets hungry.. We came out from our treatments and found, tea, water, bubbles and the most beautiful grazing spread before us, mmmm, and no hurry what so ever to hurry on, we did not want to hurry along, infact we did not want to go home. We/ I would highly recommend a morning or afternoon at Piaf, the management could not have cared for us any better and we cannot wait to go again. ENJOY

Four Pillars Distillery

This former timber yard has been transformed into a fully functioning gin distillery over 700 square metres, featuring our two German sister-stills Wilma and Jude, (and soon their miniature sister Eileen) and a new hospitality space showcasing the many facets of gin. At the Distillery Door you'll find all styles of Four Pillars Gins for tasting and sale, a long copper bar serving paddles of G&T three ways, design-your-own Negronis, Ginger Mules (gin and ginger beer), really good nuts and olives, gin-steamed marmalade on toast, great coffee and even beer and wine if you ask real nice. We have seating both inside and out and also regularly host masterclasses run by our distiller and Healesville local, Cameron Mackenzie, the heart and soul of Four Pillars Gin. Details of our next masterclasses and events are always available on our Facebook page and on our website. Four Pillars Gin launched in December 2013 and has gone on to win a swag of awards at home and around the globe.

Four pillars was the first stop for us on our day trip to Healesville. We each chose to try the tasting paddles, which came with a tonic water mixer and matching garnishes. The waitresses were very well educated on their products, giving us a run down on each one before we tasted. We also received a special extra tasting of the Christmas gin! We fell in love with the ‘bloody Shiraz’, a surprisingly refreshing gin with a touch of tonic water. The cheese board was a nice little accompaniment, overall a fantastic experience and great distillery!
