Rothenburg has made a concerted effort to preserve its medieval heritage, and Old Town reflects the historic fruits of this labor.
Christmas market we took our granddaughter to see the Christmas markets in Germany in the city and the Christmas market was a wonderful experience. The time itself without the Christmas market is a worthwhile experience because it had very little damage from the war And a lot of the structures are still intact if you are in Germany it’s a definite place you have to visit

Nuremberg Free Walking Tour and Bamberg Free Walking Tour started in 2016 as a student’s side project with a printed t-shirt, a Facebook page, some flyers and a lot of trust in the process. Even now, that we’re a team of 10 tour guides from 6 different countries, we appreciate, that all of us got a life besides tour guiding. We really live in Nuremberg and Bamberg and know these cities inside-out. We want to give you a little insight to how life here is here and how history shaped it. All the time through it was important to us, to stay independent from big umbrella-companies and provision-payers. As individual as our guides' lives and stories are also the tours. Join one of them to get to know us better! Best is to start with our classic "Free Walking Tour" that covers the highlights of the city - with your tip you decide how much the tour was worth for you. In Nuremberg we also provide a Third Reich Tour, the cultural "Theater Tour" and private tours for groups.

This 15th-century Gothic church is one of the highlights of this small town.
If you are traveling between Nuremberg and Stuttgart, stop in Dinkelsbuhl, A beautiful quaint town with an absolutely beautiful and well worth seeing St. George Church. It is a wide-aisled late Gothic church, built in 1448-1499. Lots of nice carvings and artifacts.

The city hall of this picturesque, undeveloped village reflects its anachronistic spirit.
Centered in the old walled city. It was festooned with colorful Christmas Market decorations and market stands serving everything from seasonal favorites like spiced wine to open fire roasted bratwursts, chestnuts, and more. Specialty shops included Christmas gifts and regional traditional decorations. The Rathouse serves as a beautiful backdrop for the Christmas Market.

This medieval tower, part of Rothenburg's old city gates, once marked the southern entrance to the city.
This tower is in many of our pictures as the architecture and the beautiful street is so picture worthy Great way to spend the day

This famous shop brings all the glitz and glamour of the Christmas holidays year round.
On our one day visit we decided to take a look inside the place...... and let me say we were blown away. The year round store is utterly amazing as the shear size and vast variety of Cristmas decor is beyond description. Therefore, if visting Rothenburg take the time to see what I am describing and you will see what I mean.

During services and special events St. Lorenz church is closed for sightseeing
Beautiful architecture! Don't miss the sacrament house sculpted by Adam Kraft. The incredible art survived the Reformation because families had donated these priceless items to preserve the memory of their loved ones.

These old city walls are amazing. You can walk around on top of a good portion of them. The view is great and it is a pleasant walk. They're covered so it's a nice walk even in the rain. You do need to be careful because it can be uneven in spots and the stairs are steep.
