How lucky we are to have a facility like this so close to home! And you don't have to be a champion to play there! This place is for everyone to have a good time. Even if you don't want to play, it is worth going in just to have a look around. The people at the front desk are friendly and will be happy to answer your questions. They will help you choose the proper equipment and hook you up with lessons or leagues if you like. Wondering what to do with out of town company, bring them here and play with a day pass. Now you can even rent a court and play pickleball! Great place!

I had my first experience with axe throwing last week at the Axeville Axe Throwing Club. I did this with a group of friends and we had a blast. This venue is excellent, especially for first time axe throwers. The online reservation process was simple and straightforward. The staff was committed to teaching us how to throw and gave us pointers throughout our time at the club. So if you are in Asheville and want to experience something new and different you need to try out the Axeville Axe Throwing Club! Cara Winstead

McCormick Field

McCormick Field opened its gates for the first time in 1924 when the Asheville Tourists played host to the Detroit Tigers. Over the years the stadium has encountered numerous renovations, most recently a seating bowl makeover in 2015, that has ensured the stadium remains up with the times while keeping its lustrous history and throwback feel. With a capacity of just over 4,000, the dynamic during a game is intimate and scenic. It is a hitter friendly Minor League ballpark thanks to a short porch in right field and a 42-foot high wall in right-center. McCormick Field is still inhabited by the Asheville Tourists, the Single A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

Hickory Crawdads / L.P. Frans Stadium

Reviewed By wbjii - Hickory, United States

Few things better than baseball on a summer evening. LP Frans Stadium is a fine minor league park; there's not a bad seat there. Extra netting to protect fans is a great addition. Many nights there are long lines at the concessions, especially when only one (typically on the 3rd base side) is open.
