I was gifted with a night's stay at the 21c Hotel and a spa treatment of my choice. I decided on a massage and facial at the Spa; however, much to my dismay, booking less than a week before my stay only allowed for a massage as their book was completely filled. Nonetheless, I was anxiously looking forward to it. The reception area was clean and comfortable, and I was promptly taken back to the room.... and pleasantly surprised. I'm used to treatment rooms where the attendant can barely maneuver around the bed, and the bed is narrow, hard, and at times, rickety. With the happiest glee, i can tell you, not here!!! The room was large, the floors were heated, there was a closet to hang my clothes, and the best part.... there was a steam shower to enjoy after the massage!!! The bed was the best I've ever encountered during a massage. it was wide and cushy, with a warming pad under the sheets. And... it was automated! No more laying flat on your back and feeling discomfort in the small of your back. Ben, the masseuse, actually raised the bed so I was in a semi-reclined/raised position. There were warm towels on my feet, hot pads on my back, a warm roll behind my neck, and a warm compress on my eyes. Swoon! I was in massage heaven!! This massage, without question, was the BEST massage I have ever had. My only regret is that I didn't go with the 80 min massage. Next time!
