I took my 6 year old and 10 year old daughters skiing for the first time. They each had private lessons. The instructors were really skilled in getting the kids comfortable on their skiis. They both got on the T bar lift by the end of the lesson and got up and down the mountain countless times. No waits on the lift lines. Great lift operators! My kids had a blast! Will definitely be back to this family run resort! Cafeteria food was reasonably priced. Parked within 25 feet of the front door. Easy access to the car! Incredible!!!

Elk Mountain Ski Resort

One thousand feet of vertical challenge with 27 slopes and trails to challenge skiers and boarders of all ability levels.

Located several miles from a major population center means short lift lines and uncrowded slopes. I really like the way the mountain is laid out because trees are dividing the runs creating a sense of beauty and isolation when cruising down the mountain. I'll be back.

Wilderness Lodge

The Wilderness Lodge is a rustic European style inn build of hand hewn beams and granite. We offer 9 private guest rooms, a fully stocked bar and restaurant, 26 or so miles of impeccably groomed cross country ski trails and, in our humble opinion, the best round fireplace anywhere. The bar/restaurant specialize in home cooked from scratch foods and a substantial selection of microbrews and great bourbons. In the off season the lodge caters to groups of all types for retreat weekends, family reunions, and weddings.

Laurel Mountain Ski Resort

Laurel Mountain has done a great job this year. Despite many issues with their lift, and issues around covid they have provided a safe experience. On top of that the restaurant has slam dunk pretzel bites with beer cheese. Furthermore, they have kept the slopes beautiful and well groomed all season!

I was pleased to see this place went above and beyond state mandates including: -limiting the number of tickets sold (there were long lift lines that were more bc of the lack of trails being open bc of lack of snow) -spacing out the parallel lift lines that fed into one -no indoor seating -no indoor food seating (kids enjoyed eating I'm the back of the suv) -seperating bathroom stalls so every other one could be used -cresdit cards only -rechargable cards We'll be back this year!

Hidden Valley is a great place! I have a highlands pass and many days the snow here is better then Seven Springs. The lift operators here are very kind, and always quick to say hi or ask how your day is going. I have not eaten here this year, but I just think the skiing has been excellent during Covid. They truly are doing and excellent job all while providing excellent customer service. I will be a customer for many years to come!

I haven’t written a review on TA in years! I’m going to try to answer questions I had and you might be curious too. First, this was my first trip to Liberty in YEARS! I highly recommend going during the week. I went Friday, 2/5/21 and it was one of the best days OF MY LIFE! Parking- got there at 9:40am and parked in the first row. No issues. My friends all drove separately arrived at 10, same deal- first row. Tickets- no line, walked right up and got my tix AND they let me grab my friends since I was first to get there. Awesome service! Lift lines- literally no lines all day, started skiing at 10:30 and I left at 3:30. It was getting heavier at 3 when the night patrons showed, but still no wait and the entries were always moving. New card tickets- it’s not a big deal! You just keep it in your pocket, they point the gun at you and it scans. You don’t need to get it out. Now you don’t have the tickets on your jacket for weeks to signal you are a cool skier to others (jk), but the cards work, are easy and I think can be reused. Food- you don’t have to even go inside to eat! They have a grill with food and beer on the deck. Very Covid friendly! Also, picnic style tables outside, probably 15 or so and a wall you could also sit on to eat or drink if the tables are full. Bathrooms, very clean and uncrowded. In and out- no line or wait. Rentals- I don’t rent, but saw no line. Skiing- they had snow over night before we arrived and it was perfect. All trails open but maybe one? Didn’t matter, we went on freshly groomed trails and it was awesome. For reference, I ski all trails from green to double blacks and all were great. It was 45 degrees midday so it got a little slushy by the 2/3p and you could feel the difference and just had to be a bit more careful. Safety- two workers were reminding all skiers to mask prior to entry and made sure they were heard and stopped those who didn’t adhere. Every other bathroom was closed. No more than 2 people to a lift and you had to be riding in the same party... they did let my friends and I ride together- it was 3 of us. No riding lifts with strangers basically. People were mostly masked other than eating and skiing downhill. It was very rare to see someone getting on a lift without a mask, I think I saw it once. It was a warm day for skiing so I was surprised people were so compliant. I felt very safe and I am extremely careful with Covid. Service- everyone was amazing from the ticket attendant, the mask reminders, the lift workers. The charm is still very much alive. Another helpful hint, I started the day with sunglasses and they fogged up a lot bc of the mask. Goggles did not fog at all so I recommend just wearing your goggles. Such a great trip, definitely worth the PTO day. The key is to go during the week I think. Weekends seem to be sold out and much more busy.
