However, Quepos also offers vacationers a wealth of other activities to do as well. The nearby plaza has many fine restaurants, art galleries and souvenir shops, most within a short walking distance of your beachfront vacation rental. Book an exhilarating canopy tour, go horseback riding, kayaking and rafting. Learn to surf or watch the surfers ride the waves; you’ll wonder at their athleticism.

Such a great experience!! And a BIG shoutout to our guide, Marvin! We saw two types of sloths, three types of monkeys, frogs, iguanas, butterflies, and more! It was definitely worth the price and definitely made our experience in the park much better. I would definitely recommend it. We got great pictures and learned so much. My group was young adults, but this would be great for all ages.

So far I've been to Costa Rica twice and booked with Jimmy twice - once in September 2017 and again in December 2019. He is the BEST. TOUR. GUIDE. EVER!!! I wouldn't consider booking with anyone else. Jimmy is so knowledgeable about everything related to Costa Rica. And he has a true heart for service. From the smallest things like the leaves from a certain tree that smell like wintergreen, to knowing where the hidden little water falls and swimming holes are, to all of the big stuff too. Plus, he knows everybody in the area. So he can get you a table where you want to eat, a prime spot on the beach with excellent service, the best grocery shopping. You name it, Jimmy can make it happen! His English is excellent. And if you are wanting to work on your Spanish, he will assist you with that too. I promise you cannot go wrong by booking with Jimmy! Thanks Jimmy - hope to see you again later this year!

Dealing with these people left me $155 out of pocket for insurance I had to take out as part of a boat rental agreement. The rude owner (Michael) cancelled my booking after I called his base manager out for lying about a "new" law being "recently" passed, which wouldn't allow navigation as per our agreement - total BS as confirmed by local contacts. Due to Tres Ninas' lies and over eagerness for ME to cancel my booking it’s quite clear they found better paying customers on single day basis, as opposed to my 8-day rental at a lower daily price. Basically, they kept me booked until they got a better deal, tried to feed me a BS story about new laws and subsequently cancelled on me when I called them out on it. Of course, when I confronted them about reimbursing the $155, they stopped replying. There are plenty of decent, reliable boating services in Quepos and Jaco. Therefore, I strongly advise against dealing with Tres Ninas who operate out of Quepos and Los Suenos/Jaco.

7. Whale Watching

Tres Ninas Tours & Sportfishing

The humpback whale migrations from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres to warm Costa Rican waters provides awesome whale watching opportunities against a backdrop of rich and vibrant coastline Tres Niñas Coastal Tours offers whale watching tours during select months from the Manuel Antonio National Park area near the Marina Ballena National Park off the coast of Uvita/Dominical. The gentle giants are certainly breathtaking to behold and to see whales in their natural environment is a powerful experience that underlines the importance of conservation efforts to safeguard biodiversity, ecosystems and species for future generations. Tres Niñas Coastal Tours offers whale watching tours in 25 ft. or 27 ft. center console boats which minimize disturbance to wildlife yet maximize viewing and photography opportunities.

It was an amazing evening all around. We did some fishing, took a high speed deviation to meet a wale, swam and snorkeled in a secluded bay in the Manual Antonio National Park. The crew was attentive and served drinks and snacks, we even had some Sashimi of a Tuna they caught earlier in the day. It had been a cloudy day and we caught some drizzle shower during the cruise, but the temperatures were nice and the water was perfect. We watched the sun set and and were back in the marina before it got dark. Very much fun and professional and safe. A great experience for the money.
