I met our guide at Tourist Info Wien (right off the U1 line at Karlsplatz stop). He explained a lot of helpful history to us on the ride over and then had us watch a short documentary of the concentration camp on iPads in the van which was very wise. We got to Mauthausen with a greater and more In-depth understanding of what took place there which made our visit more meaningful. When we arrived we were given audio guides and a map and allowed to wander the camp and it’s museum on our own for a few hours before reconvening. It was pretty desolate aside from a few school groups visiting. Our tour guide was great and even drove us down into the granite quarry so that we could see it up close. We went to lunch at a nice but casual sit down restaurant that served Austrian cuisine. Overall worth the money and I highly recommend this tour.

Michael was a fabulous guide and took us on an amazing route with breathtaking views. He helped us choose a tour that would suit us, and even picked us up and dropped us off in Vienna. He was really prompt replying to emails when we were organising and quick to send us the photos he had taken along the way afterwards. I can’t recommend his service enough

Lower Austria is the cradle of Austrian viticulture, so we want to take you to the beautiful forests & vineyards of the Thermal Region, just south of Vienna. Home to traditionally quaint wine villages and some unique local varietals, we showcase the finest in farm-to-table Austrian wine tours. We offer two different tours, depending on the season: In summer (Apr-Oct), we hike through forested trails and lush green vineyards, stopping en route for an open-air wine tasting and to appreciate beautifully expansive views over the Vienna basin to Hungary & Slovakia. We then continue to one of Austria's oldest wine villages for lunch & a winery visit. In winter (Nov-Mar), instead of hiking, we focus our attention on the past, present and future of Austrian wine by first visiting one of its oldest wine-making institutions dating back to 1141. We then meet one of the region's finest vintners for a wonderfully intimate wine tasting and Q&A to showcase all that the Thermal Region has to offer.

Inclusions: Wine tastings in vineyard and/or winery settings, Live tour commentary provided in English by native speaker, 12km guided forest & vineyard hike with trained first aider (summer)

Exclusions: Lunch

The guide was informative, relaxed and entertaining. The kayaks were easy to control. A good way to see Vienna differently. A great way to cool down on a hot summer day. The swim was very welcome. Other rivers were out of order due to high water levels but the Old Danube is a cut off lake and was not affected.

The guide was very friendly and answered all of the tour's questions. She was very knowledgeable about Bratislava's history and recommended some traditional food as well as a few local cafes and restaurants (we followed her guide and we loved the food, of course). The driver was also outgoing and seemed interested in Malta's culture, cuisine and lifestyle. We also had a change to stop by the palace on the other side of the road to see the beauty of Bratislava from a panoramic vantage point. I recommend spending 20-25 minutes here to take some photos. Overall I highly recommend this day trip if you have a free day in Vienna. You will probably feel quite tired after the excursion, so you can ask the driver to drop you by Stadpark for a superb end to your day. FYI: The driver will pick you up at your accomodation and will drop you off wherever you want in Vienna (which is a bonus). Thank you to the organizers and all of the staff involved!
