Entally House

Entally House was established in 1819 by Thomas Haydock Reibey II, the first son of Thomas and Mary Reibey. Entally House is positioned within a landscape of manicured gardens, vinyards and historical outbuilding, including Australia's oldest Conservatory, Chapel, Stables and Carriage House. The Northern part of the Estate also contains a cricket ground. Tours of the property are available at a small fee. Please check the website for opening hours.

This historic homestead is the ancestral home of the Reibey family ( her of the $20 note fame - although she herself did not live there). Incredible old home with antique furniture while the plethora of outbuildings has to be seen to be believed, along with the machinery. The conservatory and house gardens alone are well worth a visit. The whole is surrounded by parkland. A visit here is well worth the time and effort.

Franklin House

Reviewed By andream0402 - Melbourne, Australia

Franklin house probably doesn’t get as many visitors as it deserves as it’s a little way out of the town centre. There was a bus stop right out the front though . Well run by lovely volunteers it has some very interesting pieces and a beautiful garden. Just $10 to enter and free for National Trust members. Andrew met us in the hallway and gave us an insight into the history of the house then we walked around ourselves. There are information boards everywhere. A hidden gem.

Alexandra Suspension Bridge

Worth the visit to see. You can either take the chairlift over and then walk around or take a 5 to 10 minute walk from the main entrance to Cataract Gorge. We all enjoyed walking over it.

Holy Trinity Anglican Church

Reviewed By RayParks - Adelaide, Australia

It’s a beautiful church built with red brick and sandstone. It was opened in 1902. Its impressive scale and conscious asymmetry made it like a cathedral. My friends told me that their parents were married in this church.
