It is a unique example of the so called Festung from its early evolution period. It is still a valuable heritage site and the objective of pilgrimages of fortification lovers. Concept work on construction of fortifications started already in 1885-1886 and the construction itself began in 1889 and it ended in 1914 with over 22 shelters/bunkers/ammo shelters. In 1920, the fort was taken over by Polish military leadership, in 1926 the Festa was renamed as Dabrowski Fort. After the occupation, munitions and explosives warehouses were created in the bunkers.
