10 Shopping Malls in Colorado That You Shouldn't Miss

October 28, 2021 Darwin Bolte

Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

Pearl Street Mall

Situated in the heart of an energetic city is beautiful, historic Downtown Boulder. At the heart of Downtown Boulder is the Pearl Street Mall, a wonderfully charismatic four-block-long pedestrian mall that celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007. Colorful, bright flowers fill the mall almost the entire year and street performers, with a multitude of talents, make the Pearl Street Mall one of the best people-watching destinations anywhere.

As outlet malls go, this one is very nice. There was ample parking. The mall is outdoor; I enjoyed the fresh air as we walked between stores. The mall is large, but the layout is sensible and easy-to-navigate. Store directories were everywhere. Nice selection of stores across all categories. Fairly standard offerings for an outlet mall, but an above-average number of stores. Each store I entered was well-maintained. A few stores that suit the region: Arc'teryx, North Face, Columbia. The usual assortment of clothing stores: Banana Republic, Gap, Brooks Brothers, Bass, Express, etc. A few jewelry and cologne places and some specialty stores (shoes, jewelry, etc.). I was there on a beautiful Saturday late afternoon/early evening. While the parking lots were relatively full, the mall was not obnoxiously crowded. It's in a very suburban area and there were lots of other strip malls around, along with lots of chain restaurants. As outlet malls go, among the best I have visited.

Flatirons Crossing is one of my favorited shopping destinations. Nordstrom's, Macy's, Dillard's, Crate and Barrel and Dick's Sporting Goods are the major anchors. A wide assortment of the specialty stores provide the boutique shopping experience. Parking is plentiful, and the Food Court is above average. Best of all has been the overall friendly service from the various staff members. Surrounding the main mall are several restaurants and specialty shops, which means that almost anything one might want can be found in a central location.

Every retail store imaginable. Plenty of parking and a variety of chain restaurants. Easy to get around and lots of trees which seemed interesting or a very large square grid system of retail store after retail store. Nice AMC theater with 12 theaters.

Stanley Marketplace

A small group of neighbors turned an abandoned airplane manufacturing facility into a gigantic food hall and urban market, a celebration of independently owned Colorado businesses and a community gathering place for neighbors near and far. Stanley includes 21 places to eat and drink, 10 boutiques, 5 places to work out, a massive events venue, a hair salon and nail place and more, just about 20 minutes from the Denver International Airport and a great first or last stop for people traveling to or from Colorado.

We went to the Sistine Chapel Exhibit which was great. We had been to the actual Sistine Chapel in February and found this to be very informative and would have been nice to see before seeing the actual chapel. A great explanation of the the various frescoes within the chapel. The amazing thing was how quiet this exhibit was as compared to the actual chapel where people were constantly having to be told to be quiet. Also here you can stop and spend time looking at the pictures as compared to the chapel where you have a limited amount of time based upon your tour schedule. This exhibit will only be there for a few more days. As for the market place, it is like most of the new ones that you see around town in redeveloped areas. Not real fancy but functional and pricey. The market place I would rate as average. If in the area you may go there but I would not go out of my way to go there for the marketplace itself.
