10 Shopping in Philadelphia That You Shouldn't Miss

April 2, 2022 Marissa Gamble

One of the most historic cities in America, Philadelphia is an ideal place to spend a weekend - preferably a long one. Be sure to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, where the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were signed. Both are part of Independence National Historic Park. Philadelphia also boasts some outstanding art museums, including the Rodin Museum. The Franklin Institute Science Museum is one of many area attractions honoring the life and work of Benjamin Franklin, the city's most famous ambassador. After digesting all of that history, be sure you save room for a classic Philly cheese steak sandwich.

Stephanie met my husband and I for a tour of the neighborhood and 9th St. Market. I was impressed first of all that they didn’t cancel the tour, since we were the only ones and I had bought discount tickets. Stephanie was happy to show us around “her neighborhood”. We loved the art and mosaics, a little history, and then the market. We had several samples, carefully arranged, and enjoyed the yummy treats! Good luck to you, Stephanie, as you move to Denver! Thanks for sharing your love of Philly with us!

The SPACE is my favorite store. It's stunning and carries a wide range of beautiful photography and hand made art, jewelry, bags, housewares and more. Whether I'm shopping for gifts or a treat for myself, I always find something (well, usually more than one). There are lots of price points. In fact, I bought a friend a $36 bracelet that says "joy" as a retirement gift. She told me last week it's now her favorite possession. The owners are very knowledgeable, fun to chat with, and have impeccable taste. They've created a true jewel in Queen Village. I believe they are open Wednesday - Friday evenings and Saturdays.

I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s absolutely stunning. Both my teens and I loved it. Even as teens they could appreciate the beauty here. Younger ones will also be fascinated with the maze like structures and scavenger hunt while being introduced to a unique view of art. Make sure you have your camera as you can get some great photos.
