My fiancé and I had such a good time with Jakov!! His knowledge of Croatian history and the surrounding countries was unbelievable, and he weaved in interesting stories and little facts as we strolled along in Samobor or drove through the beautiful vineyards. There was never a moment that wasn’t fun! He has such a great sense of humor and his passion for leading tour guides is wonderful. It’s clear he has so much experience as a tour guide and really is so great at what he does. We felt like we could’ve been old friends with him by the end of the day, and we’re so glad we had this opportunity. It was definitely the highlight of our stay in Zagreb!!

The development of the downtown Zagreb starts in the mid 19th century. This is exactly why this part of the town reminds us of Vienna, Budapest or Prague; the many parks, museums, squares and building with gorgeous ornaments as well as other cultural monuments are works of renowned architects, builders and urban planners of its age. This tour is great for anyone who likes exploring the flat part of the city, but still being in an older part full of history and galleries. Often, this is the central part of the town where cultural events, manifestations, markets, and music events are organized. It is also the bellowed part of the city where locals like to hang out, enjoy the green parks and pavilions in the shade.

We were very happy that we were able to do a tour to the plitvice lakes in corona times. The company offered us a private tour (for a slightly higher price), and the driver, Darko, picked us up at our hotel. Darko is a wonderful guide, thanks to his knowledge about the country, which extends to culture, history and even philosophy. We enjoyed interesting conversations with him in the car. When we had seen the plitvice park, we only had to call him and he picked us up again within 5 minutes!
