It's worth every penny for a safe and worry-free experience! The guides are friendly and very helpful. We learned a lot and it was nice to go at our own pace. They have thought a lot about the customer experience and it shows. Very punctual and the Poas volcano was spectacular and the coffee tour was very educational and the spectacular waterfall.

I was in Costa Rica in January, now I have traveled to Colombia. I have waited several months but I cannot shake how HORRIBLE this tour was. We were supposed to have a tour bus but was instead packed into a sedan. At some point the tour guide was alluding to us going to a nicer restaurant and having us pay for his lunch because the office "did not send the money over" for the included meal. I have been on many tours before and many after but this one was easily the worst. Our tour guide was out taking pictures of his own on every site instead of actually guiding us. What took the cake was when we thought we were going to see a coffee plantation but instead he pulls over on the side of the road to a ditch to show us mounds of dirt that supposedly were growing coffee and he said he couldn't take us to an actual plantation because "The Nicaraguans are harder working and the Costa Rican youth are always on their phones now so it won't be worth it". We paid 100+ dollars EACH for a glorified taxi ride across the country. 0/10 don't recommend

I booked with GTC via viatour. The driver picked me up bang on time and the car was probably the most well kept and luxuriously comfortable car I had been in ever! Declining seats blankets and plenty of space. Much appreciated for a long car ride at 4.50am! Our driver was really lovely too! The hike was super wet and rainy and Rio was unfortunately super brown HOWEVER, it was still a pleasure to walk and learn about the wildlife etc. We had a delicious hot breakfast en route and a delicious hot lunch (much much needed when cold wet and muddy) Very impressed by the services of GTC as they always got back to me quickly with my queries too before I went. They are quite expensive - but justified as they were fantastic. And Costa Rica is an expensive (but well worth it) country.

We’ll go to the cloud forest in the mountains of Heredia on a LEVEL 4** hike that features two beautiful waterfalls and amazing landscapes. We’ll meet in Heredia city center and drive to a Protected Area where we’ll trek through a recovered cloud-forest with exuberant vegetation and some fauna. We’ll visit two waterfalls and if you’re up for it, swim in the pure, cold mountain water! After exploring the upper layers of the forest from atop a lookout point, we’ll head back to town to enjoy a "casado" in a typical lunch (included). PLEASE READ ATTENTIVELY: ** Level 4 hike means "INTERMEDIATE HIKE WITH GOOD INCLINES, SOME STAMINA IS REQUIRED!! YOU NEED TO STAY HYDRATED. GOOD FOR SOME KIDS AND TEENS. NOT FOR BEGINNERS ". + 4 Km trek with a 160 meters altitude gain (2.5 miles hike in 525 feet incline). + Do not sign up if you have important knee problems, you are not moderately in shape or you never take walks since these situations create stress and slow the trek for others.
